F*** the Yankees.

Sickening. This is why I despise the Yankees. They think they can just sit back, throw absurd amounts of money at big name free agents, and expect to win titles. They've done this for 8 years now, and there are no rings to show for it. Will they ever learn?

F*** them and F*** them hard....umm what did i just say?

No they will never learn. I bet CC goes on the DL sometime during his first year for a good period of time. Just to show them.

I hate the yankees.

The Yankees aren't breaking any rules.

They have money to spend and they're spending it on their team.

I've never seen why everyone hates 'em.

Don't hate the Yankees...if you dislike the payroll differentials, blame MLB. The Yankees are only following the rules they have to work with.

We hate them because we can. We hate them because they are different from us. They are the biggest big market team out there and we are the smallest one payroll wise.

This doesn't surprise me. With the new stadium coming in, I expect their payroll to increase to nearly $300 million.

I dont think it gets that high, but they will certainly have money to spend. Some of their best seats behind home plate are going for $1000 a game! They will have plenty of money to spend.

Say what you want about them signing everyone, but their owners actually spend their money to get a better team. Loria just pockets money and keeps a low payroll. If the situation was flipped nobody here would be complaining about the Marlins signing all these players.

If my sources are correct, I heard front row tickets are going for $1,800 per game. That may be close to all of the other 29 teams combined for front row seats. The main point behind building a new staidum though, was to construct more luxury boes for the wealthy poeple living in NYC. All they need to do in order to reach $300 million is sign Manny, C.C., and Teixeira, which I think is very affordable in New York.

I never said I despise the Yankees, because I don't. If they have the money, they should be able to spend it. This isn't the NFL/NBA/NHL, where you can only spend a limited amount. It would be nice if the MLB would implement a cap, but I'm not the one complaining if they decide not to.

If they don't win the championship then its pretty easy to ignore such a poorly run organization.

But the fans buy into all the big name free agents and that's all the front office cares about is satisfying its fans and raking in the cash. If the Yankees didn't make offers to big name free agents than their front office would get crucified by their fans and the media as being cheap. Basically, they started down this road and have no choice but to continue.

I dont think it reaches 300. They've shed some pretty big contracts. However, I am sure their payroll will be upwards of $200 million.

$1800 a game! The craziest part is that whoever has season tickets there has to pay that price 81 times!

I dont know if I would go that far. They made the playoffs 13 times in a row or something like that before this year. In the past 10 years or so they've made the world series 4 times. With some big signings they can become favorites right away.

For the Yankees, anything but a title is a failure. No one there is happy with just making the playoffs.

Thats fine, but you said they were a poorly run organization. I dont like the yankees at all. However, I would swap the marlins situation with their situation any day of the week.

I know. I can't imagine someone who would buy season tickets there, unless they're a multi-millionaire. This past summer I went up to Fenway and bought 8th row tickets for $150, which is much more than the average MLB ticket, but nothing compared to the Yankees. I guess they figure that if you have a population of 8 million people, and you're the richest city in the U.S., then there have to be some people who can afford them.

Pretty sad state of affairs when baseball appears to be turning into the sport for the elite wealthy.
