We must contact the Miami-Dade Commissioners

I got this in response of my email to District 6...

"The proposed funding from Miami Dade County is composed of Sports Tax

Am I getting this correctly? Like... would the Marlins then be forced to find a new home if Florida cant sustain them?

Because I mean... lets just cut all of those jobs who work for the stadiums and FSN Florida. And give them to someone in San Antonio or something.

Loria is staying in Miami, hopefully the team stays with him.

H. Wayne Huizenga said before he sold the Dolphins that he wants the team out of Dolphin Stadium after 2010. Stephen Ross has only said that he would give them an extension year if a stadium deal is in place.

So most likely, yes. If the stadium deal falls through, the Marlins are as good as gone. Hundreds of jobs will be lost.

Brilliant... jobs that certainly dont need to be lost will be

Thats what our economy needs.

Just in case someone needs it.

I saw a clip of the protest on the news. It looked like there were maybe 20 people there.

20 protesters? Well check out the stadium website. Looks like there were only 2 Marlins fans (See the photos here) at the mayor's thing. If they outnumber us 1 to 10 on Friday, we have not even the slightest shot. Now really isn't the time for apathy. Make sure to turn out. I'll be going to the county meeting for sure and see if I can make it to the city.

Well we've got two meetings to deal with on Friday and I think the point is we need to make sure fans show up. If the protesters can turn out 20 people at "11 a.m. on a Tuesday" I think that we should anticipate those numbers will significantly increase Friday. Definitely a valid point to be made.

I can't imagine how pissed I will be if we manage to lose the stadium in the 'final seconds', if you will.

Wow, something happened on that poll. It's like 55% to 45%. Ouch. Non-Marlins fans probably went to that link and voted no.

BTW, with both polls, Martinez and the Herald, if you want your vote to count and count (hint), clear your cookies and cache.

Yeah...she's been a NO since day one. Don't bother contacting her. She's a lost cause.

i spoke his office their told me no today

7UNDECIDED 2 YES 2 NO VOTING ARE JOE MARTINEZ AND SALLY HEYMAN I LEFT MESSAGE FOR CALL BACK FROM CARLOS GIMENEZ AND SEIJAS

Who are your 2 yes votes?

I just finished sending an email to all 13 commisioners. It said the same thing inside but I sent each email seperate and I also changed the beginning depending on which commisioner I sent it to (To Commisioner Diaz, To Commsioner Seijas, etc...)

i spoke his office their told me no today

I hope his NO today is a weak NO and can still be changed tomorrow. Also, I noticed that you included Sorenson in the undecideds when she is in fact a very strong NO.

Sorenson is no vote that what i was told today

So then your undecideds are down to 6? Again, we need Martinez. I think he is the only shot we have.
