A Very SoFlaFish Spring

I think I was sitting on the bleachers right behind you and your son while you were taking those pictures. Nothing like watching the fish up close like that.

Great pics, great Spring tradition for you guys, I hope you always are able to put these up!

Well I guess the only way I would respond to that is, how would you act if you had known the guy since he was in 6th grade, are very close to his family, his is like a son to you, and his kids consider him their older brother? We are very good friends.

I'm teasing, it just comes off like you have no other way of getting a picture of him, which obviously is not true - it seems like you have quite a good relationship. Sorry if I was rude, just joking.

I would stalk him.

lol it's cool. I have a lot of pictures of him. I just want some of him from Big League camp. We all know the Herald isnt going to take any of him.

Nice pics! As always, it's nice seeing your son enjoying himself.

I was planning on going today but the "wife" had other plans for me (like spending 3 hours inside an IKEA).

Probably head up to Jupiter Friday or Monday.

Also, I wanted to say hello to everyone as this is my first post here. Been a long time visitor to the site but just been a little "internet" shy over the years.

Welcome to the site.

3 hours inside an IKEA??? What did you do wrong to deserve that???

Can't wait for Fredi to ruin Pinto's arm even more.

Can't wait till JJ Putz gets injured again and the Mets bullpen breaks down again, costing the mutts the season...again. But like they say, third times the charm :shifty

And guess who is skipping a start because of a sore elbow. Probably not much into that, but you never know. I tend to flinch when a pitcher misses a start because of any kind of an elbow problem.

Awesome pictures like always :) .

btw guys, be prepared to see some pictures by me soon! :wee

I never seem to be able to make those work outs. It's a shame really. But today is our Home Opener. We will be there along with friends from Dade and Broward, as is our tradition.

And also thanks SFF for teaching me something this morning. I didn't realize "whet" was the correct spelling used like that. See ya at that Tigers game.

One of the things I miss most about living in Palm Beach County is having Roger Dean Stadium nearby. I used to go to Spring workouts a lot; it really is a very cool thing to experience.

I'll be making the trip on Sunday, to catch my first ST game of 2009. Hope it doesn't rain out.

No chance of that happening, it hasn't rained up here in a while! I know my lawn could use some rain!

Sweet! I'm going tomorrow as well and was trying to figure out who was pitching.

Last report I saw was maybe some scattered showers late afternoon to early evening. Shouldn't be a problem.

But I'm with you, SFF. We get any rain and I can hear a sucking noise coming from my lawn. Certain trees and plants (fruits and veggies) I water when allowed, but I basically let Mother Nature take of the lawn.

In comparison, with the lovely Scottish weather my lawn is often completely submerged in rainwater during the winter months

we suppose get rain on sunday with cold front

Well Ricky pitched well and so did JJ. Tank struck the side out also, cant remember the inning. Hermida looked like top out in left field spinning around letting two balls drop in. He was seeing the ball good at the plate though, hit a rockt to the right fielder then a homer over the right field fence. Maybin also hit the ball well twice. Logan ripped one at the 2nd basmen but he caught it. Helms hit 2 nice line drives between 1st and 2nd. Bonerface had to good abs where he walked. Hanley also had an bal go right under his glove and so did fredo.

Kind of a boring game but just great to be out there seeing some baseball.

For the second time in his "career," my son was an Honorary Bat Kid for the Marlins. This time around, though, I wasn't allowed in the dugout with him. But that's okay, because the great folks at Roger Dean Stadium took my camera with him and took these amazing pictures. EvenLittler SoFlaFish was in seventh heaven (just ask BroncoBob who saw us there and gave my son a giddy high-five!). The highlight of his night was getting to stand on the field with the players for the National Anthem. As a matter of fact, he wasn't going to go on the field, but Cameron Maybin took him by the hand and made sure he stood next to him to make him feel as if he was part of the team. Maybin just took a great step forward in my book to being a GREAT GUY!!!

Enjoy these pics from a vantage point not many of us get to enjoy.

Going to home plate to "help" deliver the starting line-up.

At home plate with the umpire crew, Jim Leyland, and Fredi Gonzalez.

It was a great night for him. He was a very happy child when his head hit his pillow last night!
