What will the Zephyrs opening day roster look like

Featured Replies

Hello guys, I am from New Orleans and a big time Zephyrs fan. I am looking forward to see the young influx of talent that the Marlins will be sending our way this season. But I am curious as to who the Zephyrs should expect to be on their opening day roster. Does anybody have a general idea of what it may look like?

Right now you can look forward to seeing Dallas Trahern, Jai Miller, Ryan Tucker and Taylor Tankersley. Also was on the back fields the other day and Daniel Barone is still around and will probably be in NO.

Wel i wouldnnt look forward to seeing Tank with the way hes been pitching haha.

The Zephyrs have started playing as a team and here's a link to recaps so far:

Didn't realize we still had Barone and Field. ha.

I'd suspect the depth chart for whoever started the thread is something like this

C - Brett Hayes

1B - John Lindsay

2B - Chris Coghlan

SS - Manuel Mayorson

3B - Lee Mitchell

OF - Jai Miller, Alejandro De Aza, John Raynor

SP - Ryan Tucker, Dallas Trahern, Rick Vanden Hurk, Brett Sinkbiel, Willie Glen

RP - Carlos Martinez, Dan Barone, Taylor Tankeresly, Chris Mobley, Jacob Marceaux, Carlos Vazquez, Nate Field, Todd Doolittle, Meyer/Koronka

and then your usual minor league guys coming in and out. All I know is, Raynor/Coghlan better be batting 1/2 and getting all the PA they can get.

Also, what's interesting from that link. G. Taylor picked up a start, and Scott Cousins/Bryan Petersen are both playing. Those three should be in AA, but I suspect it's still spring training so they may just be assigned to the minor league camp there until regular season reassignment.

We had Nate last season, I am going to guess that Willie Collazo will also be with the Z's.

Just saw that Brett Hayes and Mike Rabelo have been optioned to the Z's.

I believe K-Mart makes the Openning Day Roster for the Marlins

Yeah I want to get Opening Day tickets. I used to go to like 2 Zephyr games a year (mainly b/c it's a half hour away), but now I plan on being there a LOT more this year thanks to the Marlins affiliation.

You shouldn't have any problems ever getting tickets.

Jacob Marceaux was released.

what? like, released from the Marlin's organization? That can't be right.

Yes. He was released last week.

Wow, that's odd. He seemed like way to good a prospect for that.

So whats up with Taylor Tankersley? He was not on the roster for the Z's nor did he arrive with the team yesterday.

He's listed on their disabled list.
