April 18, 200917 yr Was anyone else bothered by Rob Dibble's open contempt of EB during last nights broadcast? At one point he expressed his desire that the pitcher drill EB "right in the ribs" and when he struck out in the 8th he said something like"get your 0 for 11 butt back to the bench" prompting the other announcer to ask " You don't like that guy very much do you?". He then made a reference to EBs cockiness or something like that. Maybe I missed something but what did EB do that set him off like that. Dibble has ALWAYS been a d!*k, but it seemed to me that as a TV announcer you have to at least try to be a little impartial. I'm not saying you can't be a homer but openly wishing for a player to get beaned is not appropriate. I think I'm going to complain to MASN.
April 18, 200917 yr My assumption is EB (the "hot" EB) is exactly the kind of guy a Rob Dibble would hate to have on the basepaths or having to trudge after a bunt in front of the plate. We really haven't seen it happen with EB yet but I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers Juan Pierre at his best, dancing off first against Al Leiter, and Leiter having a complete meltdown on the mound, unable to pitch, just walking in circles, needing two mound conferences to be settled down. These guys, the speedy base-stealers who taunt pitchers with big leads can get inside the heads of pitchers and leave an indelible memory that lasts quite a while. I suspect when Dibble went off on EB it had nothing to do with EB at all but rather some guy who had Dibble's number and drove him nuts and EB had the misfortune of reminding Rob of him. That and the fact that while entertaining, Dibble can be a real classless jerk.
April 18, 200917 yr Author Dibble can be a real classless jerk. Dibble has always been a hothead and a jerk. I demanded an apology from him on the MASN website. That ought to set him off as well :mischief .
April 18, 200917 yr He's a moron. He called our closer "Brandon" Looper all year. Hey idiot, this team is in the World Series, do you think you can learn their closer's name? God forbid he'd mispronounce Mariano Rivera :banghead
April 18, 200917 yr I don't think EB is cocky (as referenced in the first post), that article that Olney had interviewing Brett Butler (himself a classy guy) said everyone loves EB, "he's like a teddy bear" was I think the direct quote.
April 18, 200917 yr "Thank you for contacting MASN, the local leader in live sports entertainment. We appreciate fan feedback and have forwarded your message to the appropriate MASN staff member for consideration. Thanks again for sharing your concerns. Sincerely, Your Friends at MASN" i got an email from masn
April 18, 200917 yr Dibble was pretty harsh, you could feel his hatred for EB coming thru the tv... If anything, EB was making Dibble look like an ass by letting the guy shoot his mouth off

April 18, 200917 yr I'm trying to remember what I read on this...but I think it's something like one in 170+ emails such as this actually get read by a human being and less than one in 2,000 ever make it to a decision-maker or someone who could be influenced by an email complaint.

Oh well. I feel better anyway. "Dickle" probably gets so much hate mail that he can't read them all... if he were able to read that is.
April 18, 200917 yr I filed a complaint with MASN. I glad you did that. Dibble is such an asshole. I had to listen to one game at the beginning of the season on the MLB network when the Nats played the Marlins and I couldn't stand him. He is so unprofessional
April 18, 200917 yr Rob Dibble is a washed up has been who crys and moans whenever he's looking for some attention. He did the same thing to the Marlins during the '03 run and got it stuffed down his face when the Marlins won the series.
April 19, 200917 yr I was actually going to start a thread about this during the game. I'm from NJ so I have to watch the Marlins games through Extra innings and it really makes me wish I could select the feed. Very unprofessional and I still don't understand what set him off like that. I've never seen anything like that in any broadcast game I've watch before in my life. He's always seemed like a douche so this basically confirms it.
April 19, 200917 yr Dibble is the guy I got a severe case of CRS about the other day. Heard him do that ST game vs us and couldn't believe a network actually gave him a microphone. But I don't think it's Boni he has something against. He has this deep rooted hatred towards our whole orginazation. Maybe he's still bitter because his career took a southbound turn so fast and so hard. I bet him and Arnsberg are good buddies. They have alot in common.
April 19, 200917 yr I have to watch the Marlins on Mlb.tv becuase right now in living in the UK, Mlb.tv is great, fantastic picture, the only problem is that I have to listen to these idiots everyday(for one more day), masn is so lame and the broadcasters are living in a dream world, anyone else agree that they seem to be kidding themselves. Were gonna sweep them today, sweep em!!
April 19, 200917 yr the guy is a total faggot. today is the first time i've heard him and he's totally got a crush on dunn. and every other word is "nice". what the hell.

April 19, 200917 yr Thats true, its the first season they have given us that option. $20.00 a month, for me thats about 14.00 British pounds per month, not bad, and the picture quality is unbelivable even with the basic service.

Yeah, I've had it since 2006 to follow my Stros. They finally are getting the new media player set and the top quality is incredible.
April 19, 200917 yr Dibble is a major homer for the Nats. Take his hating on EB as a compliment. EB and the Marlins have gotten under the skin of all Nats fans.
April 19, 200917 yr I don't mind announcers being homers for their team, but when they start to badmouth the opposing team, that's where I draw the line (and roll my eyes). I hope he gets reprimanded, even if it is only behind the scenes.
April 20, 200917 yr i didnt hear the comment about EB during that broadcast...but Dibble does nothing but gush about the marlins on XM radio...and the more i listen to him on XM, the more i like him... i think as a Nats broadcaster, he has 2 big things working against him...he calls it like he sees it and they are a terrible baseball team...which means he is forced to talk down other teams while talking up the nats...thats his job with them...if you all could listen to how he thinks about the marlins organization on XM, that is where you see his true feelings about us...he mentions all the time how the marlins have a great starting staff that would be great at basketball too... also...he tried to make a comeback with the marlins back in the day...talks all the time about how much his arm hurt when he would throw BP and hit Bob Nadal in the back with a 90 mph'er
