I truly believe this bullpen is the worst the Fish have ever had. Meyer, Calero, and Penn got lucky in the beginning of the season- look at their careers.

Kensing chokes worse than any pitcher I've ever seen not named Heilman. Pinto can not throw strikes and Lindstrom throws straight as an arrow fastballs.

The good news is we are still in 1st place- but how much longer with Bonifacio batting leadoff and our pen?

We need to change these two things.

I'm I missing something? These three have been pretty solid.

Yeah let's look at those 3 careers.

Mayer - former top prospect

Penn - Former top prospect

Calero - career 3.49 ERA in 255 games

Meyer and Penn are our #6 and #7 relievers, perfect for high upside, current low production guys.

The issue in our pen was Pinto and Kensing. Kensing is now gone. Badenhop isn't going to be the answer.

Any word ever on Ceda yet?

Yes you are missing something. We beat the Nationals 6 games man. If we play the good MLB teams with this pen- we will get crushed. All 3 of these guys are below average and playoffs teams will have better pens than ours.

Kensing is gone? What do you mean?

2006 had Borowski. At least 1 guy to count on.

1996 had Mantei, Felix Heredia, David Weathers, Jay Powell, and Robb Nen- this a joke?

You're kidding yourself if you think this years pen is worse than '06

All of Lindstrom, Nunez, and Kiko are just as good if not better than JoBo in '06

We took 2 of 3 from the Mets and swept the Braves.

He was designated for assignment.

Umm Meyer pitched a scoreless inning against the PHILLIES tonight and Calero threw one pitch and got one out... I'm I still missing something?

Man one losing streak and we went from a team of destiny to the worse team ever assembled.

I don't think this is the worst BP ever. We have some question marks (with Kensing now demoted to a semicolon). But I feel safe, or at least fine, when Calero or Nunez come in. Penn's been okay and we still have Proctor somewhere.

Where do I begin? I know I'm just pissed but honestly this pen is NOT good nor will be.

Penn, while a good pickup because Andino is worthless, is not going to keep this up. He has 4 BBs in 7 IP. One game he is just going to get bombed like he has his entire career.

Look at Hayden Penn's career numbers read like a horror novel- 65 IP, 91 H, 38 BB, 32 K - 8.31 ERA - YIKES!

Dan Meyer is (0-6) with a 7.18 ERA for his career. Enough said.

Logan Kensing has a 5.11 career ERA and chokes every moment.

Nobody trusts Pinto in a close game- his career - 102 BBs in 158 IP.

Nunez gets rattled easy but is perfect for a set up role.

Lindstrom needs to learn how to pitch and not just throw.

Calero is decent but could get hurt any moment (hopefully he's our Joe Nelson this season)- maybe he should close.

Ummm....maybe because he's been on the team for the past 3 years and isn't getting any better. :whistle

Dan Meyer has a grand total of 26 games to his name. Hayden Penn has a grand total of 19 games to his name.

Both are former top prospects who had major minor league success not all too long ago before suffering injuries.

These two are our #6 and #7 guys. These guys do not make or break a bullpen. They are PERFECT for #6-#7 guys because they have very good upside.

You are not going to have a 1-7 of aces in your bullpen. Don't fantasize of such things.

I already stated Kensing and Pinto were the problem.

Nunez "gets rattled easy" how?

Lindstrom is an average to above average reliever. It's amazing how everybody will forget what a player can do after one bad game.

And Kiko is now only "decent" (even though his career numbers are well above average and he's having an excellent season so far) and an injury risk (even though he's only had one major injury in his career)

And he's gone, so it's pointless to bring him up about why our current bullpen is the worst bullpen ever.

Let us also not forget this pen recently had a scoreless inning streak of over 20 innings. That isn't exactly a sign of the worst pen in franchise history.

THIS.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Kensing the one who broke the streak?

FItting.

Its not a terrible bullpen, guys. Its not the best in the league (or in the division) but its not as bad as you all seem to think.
