I keep having this feeling that Hermida will end up the same as Borchard. Lots of talent but just can't put it together.

.265/.346/.434>.205/.284/.352

Good luck proving your point.

Btw, 25 year old Jeremy Hermida, currently has a .391 .OBP. He also posted an .870 .OPS as a 23 year old.

Joe Borchard, not so much.

Yes, obviously.

Cameron Maybin is also the new Preston Wilson and Emilio Bonifacio is/was the new Luis Castillo.

Josh Johnson is the new Kevin Brown. Andrew Miller the new Wes Obermueller.

Yes, obviously.

Alfredo Amezaga the new Ozzie Smith.

Hanley Ramirez the new Benchwarmer.

Matt Lindstrom the next Ricky Vaughn...

Hermida is getting on base at a tremendous clip, and he's not even hitting the ball well. Imagine if he strings together some hits and continues to walk at a solid rate. The man's OBP will be over .400 for goodness sake. That is friggin' awesome.

Yes, obviously.

well if you're going to be that way, Emilio Bonaficio would be better compared to Willie Mays Hayes.

Dan Uggla the next Pedro Cerano

John Baker the next Jake Taylor

Yes, obviously.

Wouldn't it be great if Bonifacio(ut) did a pushup everytime he hit a fly ball? :p

It's a shame Cantu doesn't play 3B anymore. He'd easily be Dorn (forgot the first name).

Yes, obviously.

Roger Dorn,.

"Don't give me this OLE bulls***!"

Well....Borchard played a decent defense. Nothing great, but MLB level.

As for Herms, fans wait every year for the promised potential .400 OBP or .870 OPS.

Maybe it will happen one day.

Lots of maybes.

About the only definite thing one can say is that as far as Holly and other girls are concerned he's got a cuter ass.

Hermida certainly plays MLB level defense.

AND HE HAD A f***ING .870 OPS TWO f***ING YEARS AGO. HE HAD A ~.400 OBP RIGHT f***ING NOW.

Jesus christ, how many times do I have to make this exact f***ing post? Can we just have a button where it shows up instead?

He could be the next Ben Grieve

Wow, great comparison!

Not many guys on this forum want to hear that, though. To many, he's Babe Ruth in the waiting.

He wasn't nearly as serious as you are. It was a sarcastic phrasing to the constant extremist negativity on here sometimes.

You just agreed with sarcasm.

The Ben Grieve comparison has been made many a time before. It's certainly possible. He's got a similar skill set.

Nobody thinks he's f***ing Babe Ruth though, god damnit. People are stupid when the topic of Hermida comes up. Jesus Christ.

Here's the way this board works concerning Hermida.

Dumbies: Hermida is a bust, cut him!

Me: He's 25, has had success at the major league level and is walking like a mad man. You don't give up on that guy, because he's already been a pretty good player and has a lot of potential.

Some random guy making a pretty solid point: Ben Grieves did too.

Dumbies: DON'T TELL THAT TO SOME PEOPLE DAI THINK HES BABE RUTH LOLOLOLOLOL LOLOLO MORE LIKE BABE RUTH'S GAY BROTHER GABE RUTH LOLZOLZOLZOLLOL HE NEEDS TO BE CUTTEDLZOZLZO

Me: I hate you.

Don't argue with him, he didn't even know how Hermida was a year ago.

I was being sarcastic as well with the Ruth joke.

I have a feeling Jeremy will only start producing once he's out of Florida.

Bobby 2times...you're letting your emotions get the best of you, and it's undermining the stat facts you worship, which have some value and should be part of a reasoned discussion.

I don't call you, or anybody else, a dumbie. We all have our opinions.

I don't call Herms a bust, and I certainly wouldn't advocate cutting him. That's crazy talk.

He's got potential offensively. I see his sweet swing(at times), and his good eye(at times).

He reached .870 in what currently looks like an aberrational year, stuck amidst a career in the .770-.800 range.

I'd be as happy as any other fan if he became a consistent .870 hitter.

Need I remind you that you guaranteed us early last year that he was a lock to be .870+ last year.

Emotions and stats don't mix well.

Emotions are what I'm supposed to have as the dummy fan who doesn't know anything about anything.

aka Carlos Quentin.

Agreed, I can never really see Hermida succeeding in the Marlins pitcher friendly stadium. A team like the Yankees pick him up for the outfield and he becomes a superstar, I mean look at that park!
