May 8, 200917 yr From the sounds of it, this more-so ends the current Maybin tryout, since Jennings said he'd be playing LF and OF (so common deduction would be that we go with a OF of Coghlan/Ross/Hermida) and didn't mention 3b. If Maybin is demoted, I see Amezaga getting 3-4 right handers a week, and Gload/Carroll getting the rest of the starts. I think it's a real bad idea to move Hermida back to RF, and I see mention of Coghlan in the outfield as just spot duty/bench depth. Regardless of what Jennings said, Coghlan's main purpose is going to be pushing Bonifacio into getting better or to the bench. He's a natural 3B. Time to push Bonifacio into the "amezaga" roll.

If anything uggla shoud play in COL as it could get him going. By the way i think i heard rich say uggla was batting .180 at this time last year and we all know how hot he got after that.

May 8, 200917 yr BTW, WildMarlin, weren't you the one who called Coghlan the next Robert Andino? He's better than Andino- always has been. I compared him to Andino because I think he will eventually become a utility player- not a starter. It's not a knock on him but only time will tell.

I'm assuming since you said "time will tell" it isn't. He's been a very good player in the minors.

May 8, 200917 yr Was just looking at Coghlan's stats and wondering when he would get a shot. Then I come here and see this thread first thing. Looking forward to seeing what he can do and starting in Colorado can't hurt a solid hitter. Team needs a little shakeup at this point as they have been drifting towards mediocrity (at best).
May 8, 200917 yr I'd like to see him over boner tomorrow. With a flyball pitcher in colo we need as much pop as possible, and he'll give us more pop certainly.
