May 10, 200917 yr We are now tied for 1st with the Mets, although they have a better win %, and 1/2 game ahead of Phillies. Also, Braves only 2 1/2 games back. This is a really tight division at the moment. Thoughts?
May 10, 200917 yr We really need to get our asses on the ball. 3 runs to support our starters, although it worked out tonight, is NOT going to cut it. Our hitting needs improvement...and in some cases a little more luck (I'm looking at you, Uggla).
May 10, 200917 yr I don't start looking at the standings until late July I don't seriously look at them, but it's nice. Never want to be in a hole working into July.
May 10, 200917 yr Lol! There was a different tune around here a couple weeks ago in terms of standings. If Marlins want to stay with the big boys, you guys better hope Miller produces and Nolasco turns it around. Johnson is becoming a bonafide ace but one man cannot carry a pitching for an ENTIRE season.

It's this "big boy" cockiness that always lands them on the putting green in October. And what was the different tune a couple weeks ago?

What starting pitcher not named Johan Santana has pitched well for the Mets this year? How's Oliver Perez & his great contract doing these days? :lol
May 10, 200917 yr Forgot all about Volstad, he's pretty damn solid too. Mets have a ton of problems but they have top tier talent so I expect them to be there when it counts in October. Marlins have great potential and you guys will have your time but too young right now and young players get exposed after time until they are ready for prime time. That's why I am reading posts like Andrew Miller?? UHH and how Maybin isn't ready. I saw someone make a post a couple hours ago, saying everyone cant be HanRam and be a superstar first year in the majors, and it's so true obviously no matter how hyped up they are. Look at Phil Hughes of the Yanks. Guys were calling him the next Clemens after one no hit bid vs the Rangers and he's been awful since.

May 10, 200917 yr As long as we stay close right now I'm happy. Sometthing like 3 games or so is fine with me right now. Obviously i'd like to be in first but right now it doesn't matter.
May 10, 200917 yr Dude, you shouldn't be talking. All you guys have is Johan Santana. You have no one else that can step up and pitch good. We have Volstad, who you didn't mention and is having a great season, Nolasco who will turn it around, and Miller who has more potential than anyone on your team
May 10, 200917 yr Mets have a ton of problems but they have top tier talent so I expect them to be there when it counts in October. You mean like the last two seasons? Well, maybe the 3rd time will be the charm. :thumbdown
May 10, 200917 yr The Oliver Perez situtation is pretty sad i must admit. I feel for the guy right now lol

May 10, 200917 yr I think the Marlins (and their fans) should be happy with where they are in the standings currently. Most of our games have been on the road and we've played very well on the road. We need to start playing better at home and find a lineup we can stick with on a consistent basis (seems likes its different every other day)
May 10, 200917 yr do mets fans really have nothing to do but come here and talk $H!+ because their sub par this season if that??? and in phil hughes case since the no hit bid hes been injured not "suckish" get ur sources right buddy :thumbup

Speaking of sigs, I should edit mine =/
