Was watching his report this morning and all I have to say is I love how he mentions all the clubs he played for except for Florida. ohh well.

Didn't Sheffield just recently say that if he's elected to Cooperstown he's going in as a Marlin?

He can say it but its not his choice.

Who cares if he left us out? He's nothing but a cheating Cancer anyway.

Who decides what team logo will be used on Hall of Fame plaques?

The choice of which team?s logo appears on a player?s plaque is the Museum's decision, though we always consider the wishes of an inductee. As a history Museum, it's important that the logo be emblematic of the historical accomplishments of that player's career. A player's election to the Hall of Fame is a career achievement, and as such, every team for whom he played is listed on the plaque; however, the logo selection is based on where that player makes his most indelible mark.- Baseball Hall of Fame FAQs

Winning a World Series is pretty indelible to me.

The only other team would be? LA, where he played just about as long as FLA and didn't win his only ring?

Shows you how much "chemistry" and "cancer" truly mean.

I believe the "cancer" won a World Series with us.

Like it or not, this is true. He was our franchise's first legitimate star player.

Why is he a cancer? He is a great ball player, and one of the top 5 best MARLINS in club history!

I mean he did help us win the series, and until Cabrera was the best hitter we had ever had in our system!

I would have loved for Samson, and the front office to have signed him but they went for Practor instead, and Samson insulted the notion of bringing back Sheffield, and also insulted the idea of getting pedro the way he blew off the questions early this year on 790am.

But he's a jack@ss anyway so it's normal.

Samson can be a bit of a prick at times, and Sheffield said he wanted to come back home, and end his career here, and go into the hall as a Marlin.

But our prick... um the step son of the owner Mr Oj Sampson said no thanks, and now Sheff is an F'IN MET, and hit his 500HR there instead of here!

Sampson has no class...

No offense, but when Sheff was talking about going back home, he was talking about the Rays. He's from the St. Petersburg area, not South FL. Besides, he still thought he could play every day, so he wanted a least a DH spot (which would have precluded him from resigning w/the Marlins even if there was mutual interest).

I'm just curious what you think Sheff could provide to us? Late inning defensive replacement? Reliable pinch hitter? Veteran leadership? No, I don't think he would be able to do any of that. I saw him in ST; while his bat speed is still as thunderous as it ever was, he has nothing left in the tank; he was horribly out fron or behind every pitch and could barely run out a ground ball. He should have hung up the spikes 2 yrs ago. If we had signed him, it would have been as an overpriced benchwarmer.

1) Sheff had no place on this team. And he's not hitting very well.

2) You're mad at the wrong person. The has almost nothing to do with running the baseball part of the team. Hell, he barely has anything to do with the business part either. The man does nothing and affects nothing. The most important thing he is associated with the team is his title.

Sheff is my favorite Marlin of all time, and I hope the Mets DFA him so the fish pick him up

Sheffield more then likely will go into the hall as a Marlin.

The Hall decides what hat you where based on where your career took off and where your known from---Florida in Sheffs case.

Remember, Carter went into the HOF as an expo because he made his name as an expo. Even if he won his only ring in NY.

Sheff spent the most time in FLA, and made his name and ring here.

MIL and SD won't get it, LA MAYBE, ATL no, NYY No, DET no.

Probably because he chose to go in as an Expo.

The league started deciding for the players when the Rays signed Wade Boggs and in the contract it said he would enter the Hall of Fame as a Ray.

Not just that but Carter played more than twice as many years in Montreal than he did everywhere else combined and put up his best numbers there.

Even though many would argue he shouldn't be in the Hall regardless, but that's another story entirely.
