Johnathan Fulton

Actually, after looking at it, he is with us. He was a drafted as a SS but became a pitcher last season.

As far as I know he's not up here, which would make absolutely no sense.

Well, according to the Marlins MLB site he's on both the 40-man and Active rosters - but the Active roster has 26 players?

Perhaps someone's being sent down? Or someone's having a laugh? Fulton is a 3B/SS turned pitcher with less then adequate MiLB figures.

The Marlins MLB site seems a bit funny at the moment - first headline is "West hoping for first MLB win against idol" !

Yeah, I highly doubt this is right.

his ERA in Jupiter this year is 0.00. of course thats only 4.2 innings. but its still 0.00!

Just remember, projected over 200 innings thats a 0.00 ERA.

It must be a typo, he was "assigned". An assignment is when a parent club moves a player between minor league teams or from the major league to minor league level. If he was going to join to the parent club, the current terminology is "called up".

Speaking of transactions, Scott Olsen was sent down last night to AAA. He was "assigned" to Potomac Nationals from Washington Nationals.

WOW. How bad do you have to be to not make it with the Nats?

EDIT: Apparently he's been on the DL since May 17th and this is a rehab start, so I don't believe that counts as actually being assigned to AAA.

Those are the words from MLB.com :

"LHP Scott Olsen assigned to Potomac Nationals from Washington Nationals."

That's the same site that says we called up Jonathan Fulton, correct?

That's right, the MLB site.

Yeah, I get that, I believe it's wrong though. I'm almost positive that you can't assign a guy who's on the DL.

You can, on a rehab assignment, which is what Olsen is doing.

This sounds right, because Potomac is their A+ team. You'd send him to AAA if he was really struggling, I would think.

I thought you could send them but that it wasn't "assigning them".

Its hard to be good on a team like the Nationals.

At this rate Roy Halladay should catch up to them in wins which is pretty pathetic.

It is (rehab assignment). It's the same exact thing as being sent down, but for the purpose of getting into game shape instead of the normal reason you assign somebody to a minor leagu team.

Like wise, when you return, you are "recalled"
