June 13, 200917 yr We currently rank 2nd in runs (59) and OPS (.767) in the month of June in the NL. Only the Rockies are better (big surprise). Our pitching staff ranks 10th in ERA (3.67) and 8th in OPS (.686) Our starting rotation has a 3.55 ERA (8th) and our bullpen a 3.89 ERA (13th). 8 of our BP runs have come thanks to Hayden Penn and Cristian Martinez, our other relievers combine for a 1.95 ERA. The more amazing thing? Based off our periphirals, we're actually underperforming. Based off the basic runs created (obp*slg*pa), we'd have 67 runs. We rank first in FIP (3.25, or 39 runs). Our startion rotation is first (3.08), and our BP is 5th in FIP (3.57). Starting rotation back to form, offense back to form, BP still performing, bonifacio looking like he's on his way out. Things looking way up.

June 13, 200917 yr Sounds promising. With Miller pitching the way we always hoped he will and Nolasco maybe getting his things back together, I think it's fair to say that the season is not over yet despite what some others may say.

After the win today we are only 3 games behind the Wildcard leaders. With 98 games left in the season it is a joke for people to say we are out of it.

I have my doubts on Lindstrom, but that's well known already. I can't say he's proven me wrong, either. The rotation is looking promising again, though, which is the best sign of all.

June 13, 200917 yr Author Well, now that the Bonifacio infatuation seems to be over, we certainly have more of a chance. Nice to not have crap production at the top of the order, for a change. Just a note, Emilio has created 23 runs going by basic runs created (don't care enough to do the whole thing) Over the same amount of PAs, a .350*.450 (800 OPS, an optimistic but not lofty prediction for Gaby) 43 runs. So with Gaby, we'd have ~2 more win. That also means that, over the coarse of the rest of the season, Gaby should give us about +4 more wins then we'd have over Bonifacio. .350/.400/.750, which is probably more realistic, he'd have created 39 runs to this point (+3 wins going forward). He also might crap out at something like .325/.375/.700 though (33 runs, +2 wins going forward) If we look to make a trade for a very good bat (like .375/.500), he'd have created 52 runs to this point, and be worth about 6 wins more the rest of the season.
June 13, 200917 yr I'm still watching the team and if the keep winning I'll keep believing. I've been a big detractor so far but we have had some big things go right for us like what we've gotten out of West so far and Hermida, Ross, and Coghlan all hitting their stride. The bullpen continues to be solid although Lindstrom is still the largest ?. But we are definitely keeping close enough to warrant some trades for talent coming in instead of going out. (not that I'm sure we really have any pieces that we can trade without hurting ourselves in the not-too-distant future).
