July 30, 200917 yr I don't even care anymore..... Give out all the names already on that stupid list and let's f***ing move on already.
July 30, 200917 yr Author Exactly...give out the damn list already... Why are they holding on to it.... So Sport Center will have something to talk about for a week every couple of months.... No more surprises, just let the names out already...
July 30, 200917 yr I think most suspected this. Will be interesting to hear what Ortiz has to say after he said players should get suspended for a full year when Arods name came out.
July 30, 200917 yr You want the list? This is supposedly it, and you aren't going to like it: http://www.rotoinfo.com/read_article.php?articleId=380
July 30, 200917 yr When all is said and done, I think we'll be more surprised by who's not on the list than who is. Like others have said release the list already.
July 30, 200917 yr I can't imagine that many people are actually "shocked" by this. The only person who I would actually be surprised if they took steroids would be Juan Pierre.
July 30, 200917 yr You want the list? This is supposedly it, and you aren't going to like it: http://www.rotoinfo....p?articleId=380 That is a lot of Yankees/Red Soxs. It might not be a true story, it might be a Hoax by a New York Sports writer against a few Boston Players, but you never know.
July 31, 200917 yr Baseball continues to go about this in a horrible way. If you're going to release names, release ALL the names. And I normally don't say this, but Ortiz #'s do deserve an asterisk. Unlike some who were good before they started using, Ortiz started having much better success after using.

Just saying...me, personally...I'll think of David Ortiz as a guy who actually needed roids to get the nickname "Big Papi."
July 31, 200917 yr Release the name already or stop this bulls*** already.. IMO i only think 2 players have played the game clean (Chipper and Jeter) and by that i mean 2 Hall of Fame type players.

Just saying...me, personally...I'll think of David Ortiz as a guy who actually needed roids to get the nickname "Big Papi." Well, you'd be surprised there... I know I was... He had a career .800 OPS in Minnesota and went to a park where left-handed hitters certainly get a boost... and, one could argue that most of the parks in the AL East are hitters parks or are at least favorable for LHP... so, maybe he's not a 50 HR hitter... but he's likely a 30+... Again, Im not disarming your opinion, just giving you some food for thought on what may have contributed to his increased numbers... just how people like to think that steroids were the biggest reason A-Rod smashed faces in Texas, while ignoring that Arlington is basically a bandbox itself...

Well, he was an .800+ .OPS guy. Maybe it wasn't all roids. I guess one of the major changes has been the fact that he's improved a lot from his year's in Minnesota against left-handed pitching. He was always pretty beastly against righties (posted over a .900 .OPS in 2002 in Minnesota).
July 31, 200917 yr Just reflecting the sentiments of most here already... it's not a matter of being fair. I'm not interested about who is on the list and who isn't. I just want it all to end. That fake/real list... it doesn't shock me to read any of those names (though it would be cool to have a roid free 2003 World Series). The only way they can ever make a difference is to punish those who have wronged us. Release the names. Lie to them like they lied to us. Make there be consequences. Sounds irrational, but stick a god damn asterisk on all of them. Call me crazy, tell me stories about Hank Aaron using roids or whatever, I dont care. Anyone player who has been proven guilty of using roids deserves to be banned from the Hall of Fame. Our country stands on its law of innocent until proven guilty, though these guys are proven guilty and no action has been taken because they are too afraid to ruin the "good name" of baseball. Wake up... it aint good anymore!
July 31, 200917 yr Release the name already or stop this bulls*** already.. IMO i only think 2 players have played the game clean (Chipper and Jeter) and by that i mean 2 Hall of Fame type players. I would include Ken Griffey Jr.
July 31, 200917 yr Derek Jeter wouldn't surprise me. Neither would Chipper. Neither would Ken Griffey Jr. It'd hurt to see any of them up there... but at this point nothing surprises me.
July 31, 200917 yr not surprised. but the red sox did acquire victor martinez so he might be there future DH meaning ortiz's time with the sox might be coming to an end . i love how ortiz acts like he doesn't know anything about it. people lying to another person's face just pisses me off.
August 8, 200916 yr Papi denies using. I guess he's gonna take the Bonds/ Rose approach and deny deny deny.
