Hermida a.k.a GOD left 9 guys on base tonight

Gload is currently twice the hitter that Scrubmida is, why not give him a shot?????????

Because you're talking out of your ass. He isn't twice the hitter Hermida is, and as long as Maybin is down in the Minors, Hermida will continue to start in RF.

Any stats to back that up?

Stats are overrated.

Gut feelings, intuition, and opinion are more valuable.

Jeremy Hermida isn't great, but he doesn't suck. You're overreacting.

overreacting?he is the worst outfielder of the 3 we have right now.Coghlan a natural IF read fly balls better than hermida who has already 4 years under his belt.790 the ticket once said that hermida looks like the kid that was forced to play baseball by his parents

Funny stuff. Using a sports talk show to back up an opinion.

You think there might be a reason the folks at 790 are in a faceless job, stirring up controvery, instead of managing a team at any level? Most of those guys I wouldn't want as asst coaches for a T-ball team. "Dan the Man" right near the top of that list.

Not that I'm sticking up for Jeremy, just stating an opinion.

Thanks very much for assisting me on the Hermierda comment...I read a whole lot of posts here and I think most people are not down on him...for the love of God, I don't know why...

I never have cared for hermida. He has been very disappointing offensively thus far in his career and his defense stinks . if we had a everyday viable option I am sure he would be on the bench but until Maybin shows he can play at an everyday major league level we are stuck with him :(

He's been (Maybin) tearing the cover up in AAA and I think that Cousins or BC cannot do worse than Hermierda...that's my feeling

What sucks is that they sent Carroll down so we don't even have a true RF to replace Hermida in some games or get an occasional start

God why? Why didn't we just trade Hermida to Washington instead of Willingham?? OH YEAH, THATS RIGHT!!!! Willingham is the better hitter, fielder, and baserunner...but Hermida has more POTENTIAL! That pisses me off. Potenial just means that somebody has the chance to be good. They've been playing since the same year, 2006. If anything, Willingham has more potential, (and his monster hitting with the Nats proves it) Willingham would've provided the power that this lineup needs. I miss him so damn much :banghead

First off...he's not my boy. Second, I never called him "GOD." Third, I'm not even a big Hermida fan. I just put out the stats, and point to the fact, that there's no replacement for him, right now.

Now that was really funny, from the kid who worships at the alter of Hermida and has lectured and berated anyone who dares not agree pretty much from the first day he got here. :brigginbounce

And Darkman, loved the comment you posted (attributed to someone on or calling into 790am) that Jeremy Hermida looks like "the kid that was forced to play baseball by his parents"...my hat's off to the guy who penned it. I may use it myself some time, not about Hermida, but other players that fit the mold. I'm sure no likes less what has happened to Jeremy Hermida's game than Jeremy himself, it can't be fun underachieving (that's not a shot, I honestly believe he wishes he knew how to turn it around) everyone's expectations for you which may be unfair to the guy but it is what has happened.

It is wise to keep him in the minors for contract purposes.

But since you seem to be the genius who called me out...

Maybin had 95 plate appearances this year, and hit to a line of: .202/.280/.310. Hermida has been better than that. Emilio Bonifacio has been better than that! (and we all love Bonifacio! )

But hey...you're right. Lets throw in the rookie who proved nothing in the first month of the season into the middle of this playoff race. It'll AUTOMATICALLY make this team better! So obvious! . . .

I REMEMBER A ROOKIE IN 2003 MAKING A HUGE IMPACT, ACTUALLY I REMEMBER A BAT AND A PITCHER MAKING A HUGE IMPACT... :whistle

I don't think anybody can do it worse than Hermierda, he sure looks like somebody who was forced to play baseball by his parents...

He was not. It is because he is one of the only players from the Marlins Farm System. Jim Presley has taught our guys to hit for the fences so that's why we strike out a lot. That's why Nick Johnson does not strike out because he has not had Jim Presley ruin his swing yet.
