Marlins win 4-2!

W:B. Sanches (4-1)L:T. Redding (2-5)SV:L. Nunez (19)

2B: C Ross (35, T Redding); N Johnson (21, T Redding)

HR: H Ramirez (22, 3rd inning off T Redding 1 on, 2 Out); C Maybin (2, 4th inning off T Redding 1 on, 1 Out)

I wish we could've added some more runs (simply for my own health and stress levels) but overall a great win! I liked watching Cameron and Stormy do well. Too bad Vandenhurk got injured since he was doing pretty well but the pen only allowed one run.

If you guys do a Fish of the Game I wouldn't know who to choose...Either way, awesome win tonight! Hurk had a surprisingly good game today. Who gets the win??? Burke Baden Boop???

Yeah, the Hopper gets the win.

Sanches/Lindstrom get the hold, Nunez gets the save.

I just got home from work and I am too tired to make one. I was surprised no one else made a PG thread. Guess that's my job here :hat

Yeah, the Hopper gets the win.

Actually, I got this wrong, apparently. Sanches got the win.

I thought the win goes to the guy that got through the 5th? Anyways, the team won, so that's all that matters.

Now I'm really confused, I believe I heard on the radio it was the Hopper. Can ne1 confirm?

Nope, it's actually up to the official scorer.

And yes, Sanches got the W.

To bad the Phillies wouldn't let Lidge blow another one. They might be figuring out they need a new closer.

Brett Myers will probably have the role, as soon as tomorrow.

Good. At least we've had some success against him. I can't believe how well Pedro has pitched lately. I know that we've hit him well in the past. Recent past.

Thanks guys, I was hoping my booper would get the win, but Sanches did pitch better tonight!

Yep. Official scorer decides who was more important to the win after the starter is pulled before 5 innings. Sanches pitched 2 innings and Hopper one. Thought that was pretty much a no-brainer.

At first I didn't care much for PHing for Hopper. Didn't sound like Tommy and Rich did either. Then they explained the other side of the coin and I understood Fredi's thinking. Pretty good idea. And Gaby finally got a hit this year, so all worked out well. Pretty nice AB, actually. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the rest of the season and he has become more than the 2 or 3 pitch out he has shown during his other call ups. Unless we get knocked out of contention he probably won't have many opportunities to show it, but we shall see.

Here is the question. If Vandenhurk misses his next start (no idea if he will or not. Hopefully not), who pitches in place of him?

Volstad? Miller? Hensley?

Seems like every game we win, the Rox or Phils win too... When we lose, they win... I think we may have to 20-4 to send the Rox/Fish play in game! We need to get to 93 victories, IMO.

Apperently, after Uggla's play last night, the Met's season is over.

Rare Centuple Play Ends Mets' Season

MIAMI—In a sudden end to a trying year, the Mets' Jeff Francoeur lined into a rare centuple play against the Florida Marlins Wednesday, which by rule cut New York's season short. "I hit it on the screws, but it just happened to be in a spot where they could turn a hundred," said Francoeur, who watched helplessly as Marlins second baseman Dan Uggla tagged everyone in the Mets dugout before heading into the clubhouse and tagging both equipment manager Charlie Samuels and physical therapist John Zajac. "You take a risk by starting the runners but I didn't think he'd have enough time to run up to the executive suite and get [Mets GM] Omar [Minaya] and [team owner] Fred [Wilpon]. I guess by the 80th out we'd all just given up." This was the most outs recorded on a single play since the 2004 Montreal Expos were eradicated from the league after hitting into an ∞-play.

Who said Uggla's defense was bad. :p
