April 22, 201016 yr Dissapointed again in losing but you are not going to win every series. JJ has not been on so far this year but should get it turned around. Anibal must pitch us to a win tonight because its looking like a 4-5 road trip... Lets go Fish! Lets not act like the sky is falling eventhough the bullpen is failing...

Its a loooooooong season, certainly the pen is going to lose its share throughout and no one can say that Nunez would have delivered the save if it got that far. The FO will hopefully find someone soon to help, I mean other than Jorge Sosa!??!
April 22, 201016 yr how do you blow a pickle in the MLB...that run was the difference... badenhop did fine. the first hit agains him was an infield hit to hanley and the other was a dribbler off the bat. stuff happens. Maybin played the only real hit terribly. The hopper will be fine. Our defense, however.....,
April 22, 201016 yr Look on the positive side of things - next week we have Washington and San Diego at home. I understand both teams have started pretty well, especially SD who have just swept SF, but that 6 game stretch is still one I fully expect us to capitalise on and pick up some wins.

But we're on the road, so Schnellders' point is still valid. Also I would like to take full responsibility for this loss. I apologize for making the game thread. *mourns*
April 22, 201016 yr Hey Erik, Dom2613, Rab...everyone. It's been a long time since I've posted here. Just wanted to come on here and say what's up. You know that I am a Lindstrom fan and at the same time a Florida Marlin fan as well. I remember well our debates and opinions over last season. One of them was whether Lindstrom was healthy or not because of his inconsistencies. Due to the fact he had no spring training last year because of the WBC IMO attributed to his control issues and hurt his consistency. Matt is still good friends with most of the players on the team, in fact John Baker, Wes Helms, Cameron Maybin, and Matt all went out to dinner and the mall yesterday before the game. This year with Brad Arnsberg and an actual spring training he has learned new grips on different pitches and is consistently throwing them for strikes. He attributes most of his success to Arnsberg. You might wonder how I know all of this information and little insights...well it is because Matt Lindstrom is my brother. Matt appreciated all of your support throughout the last 3 seasons, sorry if I ever came off hostile or beligerent. Like I said I still follow the Marlins and hope they do well. Good Luck this season. Hey man, what's up, long time no see. Someone actually asked for you on the gamethread when he came in. That's good to hear he's doing well. I never knew you were his brother either, I can see now why you took offense to some of the things that were said before. Feel free to stop by, and share how he's doing every once in awhile too...he's actually on my fantasy team that I'm paying good money for, and I just traded Brian Wilson tonight so he's (Lindstrom) going to end up being 1 of my 2 closers now, lol. Seems like he learned how to throw a 2 seamer from what I saw tonight...and the statistics look nice, as he hasn't walked a batter yet. It's early, but Lindstrom (and Nunez, as well, to be fair) are doing well in their roles, right now. Since this is the postgame thread, I'll say, again, that I don't think the Astros are as bad as their early record indicates. I don't know why people keep saying they're horrible. They had an 8 game losing streak to begin the year. Those things happen, but they're a pretty average team...not bad/horrible. That was me who aksed where he was. Good to see Matt doing well just to bad it has to be at the Marlins expense right now. Would be really be nice to have both Matt and Leo in the Marlins pen this year.

Houston has a much better team than Washington and San Diego.

Hopper should have gotten out of that inning. He pitched well in the beginning. He was unfortunate and ended up melting down.
April 23, 201016 yr People keep saying the Astros are a bad team on the gamethread, but they're pretty much a .500 team, overall I bet at the end of the season. First series loss of the year, the important thing is getting this horrendus bullpen fixed, somehow. [/b]Why is Minervini interviewing Lindstrom, asking him about all his pitches, like he still plays for the Marlins? To me the bigger question is, "Why Minervini?"
April 23, 201016 yr It would be nice if our 10 million dollar ace could go 7 innings so we don't have so many opportunities for our pen to blow it. Uh oh, now I've done it... Well, there's that I guess. Remember when Hanley went on a slump directly after he signed his contract? JJ wasn't perfect, but he wasn't super sloppy. He's played OK recently, can't expect the man to leap tall buildings in a single bound everytime he's out there. I believe there is something to this. Some players just try too hard to live up to the expectations after signing big contracts. Maybe even take it a step further with rookies trying too hard to show they belong after winning the starting jobs out of ST or a call up. Then there's the other end of the spectrum. Like Uggla.

Were we? Because of our record playing there, I was worried about this series.
