August 1, 201015 yr Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post has tweeted that the Marlins are currently leaning towards Sean West to start Tuesday instead of skipping that spot in the rotation. MLB.com also lists him as the probable starter for Tuesday. Sean West is slated to face Roy Halladay.
August 1, 201015 yr Last year West made 1 start against the Phillies - 4 innings, 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts in a 6-4 win for the Marlins
August 1, 201015 yr if he can learn how to go deeper into games he will be huge. e cant have him go only 5 innings like he did a lot last year and like many in the back of our rotation have for a couple years now. just tell him to be mark redman from 2003.
August 1, 201015 yr Haha what a Phone Call that should've been. Congrats Sean You've been promoted to the Marlins again. Thank You so when will I be pitching. You'll be going Tuesday against the Phillies and Roy Halladay. Yeaaaaaah, about that. Do You Think You can pencil me in for the Wednesday Start and let Ricky get a shot at Halladay?
August 1, 201015 yr hmm... definitely an odd matchup.... but I guess there's two tactics to matching your pitchers... I like putting the gamble and having your worst pitcher facing their best. If you somehow win, the other games should be a breeze.
August 1, 201015 yr If West starts on Tuesday, all of the other starters get an extra day of rest? I'd assume so. I like that, that means another Super JJ Saturday.

Well then... if that's true I cant help but imagine this wasnt a sole managers decision. It's like JJ owns the rights to pitch on super saturdays.

I love it that way, as I have the Super Saturday plan. There have been 8 SS and he's pitched 4 of them. I've managed to, per chance, see him pitch a ton of times this year.
August 1, 201015 yr Oh dont get me wrong, I like it too. I've been to about 4 games this year, 2 have been Super Saturdays and obviously both JJ starts.

I'd like that too because then that means JJ gets an extra day of rest which I think he could use AND I should be back in Miami by then and I could get to finally watch him pitch this season! Last time I watched JJ pitch it was that no hitter he had into the 6th against the Rockies last season.
August 1, 201015 yr Usually I like West going against the Philles because usually they are loaded with lefty bats but that is not the case with all their injuries. Whatever just go out there and out duel Doc Halladay, Sean or at least keep us in the game. Oh yeah don't kill the pen. We owe Halladay a beat down for the perfecto,

We owe Halladay a beat down for the perfecto, The only way Marlins win against Halladay and the Phillies Tuesday is if the team REMEMBERS that perfect game. Just f***ing score on Halladay. Like 4-6 runs off of him alone. And rest needs to be good as well. lol I called Sean West, rest.
August 2, 201015 yr uhh... something tells me it takes 2 to tango... the Marlins absolutely blew against Halladay in his perfect game. But that doesnt mean the Marlins gave Halladay a piece of history, he still had to be just as good as the Marlins were bad, if not much, much better. That all being said, the Marlins couldnt get 4-6 runs off of Halladay just because they remembered that he PG'd them. It's going to have to take a fail on Halladay's part to put up 4-6 runs against him. I'd be happy with 2 and an early exit.

Don't you mean will not or can not instead of could not? Have you already seen the score of the Tuesday night game? This team remembers the PG and will want to chase Halladay out early.

Lol okay... what I said makes zero sense. But what you said makes... all the sense in the world!! Yeah... we're just gonna ignore the fact that Roy Halladay is a very talented pitcher. And we are going to REMEMBER!!!!! And the fact that we REMEMBER!!!!! will drive our under average offense past a superior pitcher to the sum of 4 to 6 runs just because we said so, and we REMEMBERED!!!! Give me a break.
August 2, 201015 yr Well we did face him after the PG in Philly and beat him 1-0. I believe JJ pitched.
