November 17, 201015 yr Morrison and Nolasco is a lot. I don't know what else you give because at some point it's not worth it. Nunez? Sure if it makes or breaks it, but if we're dipping into Dunn, West, Sanabia, James, Hand, Dominguez, and the real minor league talent pool, this will get risky. If the deal is Morrison, Nolasco, Ceda, and Badenhop, that is a no brainer 4-1 deal. Totally serious. Just use the money on a free agent starter, and we've traded Morrison and some relievers for Justin Upton. Win. I partially agree with you but think of the scenario we can roll out there: Cogz, J-Up and Stanton..I mean, we'll be replacing Uggs' bat in the lineup and then some while gaining on our outfield D...I think the trade of LoMo, Ricky and Ceda, bundled with some lowe tier prospects (I'm not including Dominguez, Skipworth, Sanabia, Jennings, Dunn, Hand and our top prospects) will make us instantaneously the second best team in the NL East...
November 17, 201015 yr I wouldn't because Stanton has 2 more cheap years and is 2 years younger. Talent-wise, though, it's darn close from what I've seen. They are like two of the TOP 5 most naturally talented in all of baseball. To have both on the same team would be insane. Like having two Heywards.
November 17, 201015 yr Interesting question: Would you trade Stanton for Upton, straight up? Because if it's not Morrison going, it's Stanton. Stanton + Upton > Upton + Morrison. Don't get greedy, you can't have your cake and eat it too. I don't think I move Stanton in a deal for anyone not named Longoria, Zimmerman, Votto, or C. Gonzalez.... I really think that's the whole list. Maybe Wright. No pitchers. What about Posey? Heyward?

November 17, 201015 yr Id give up LoMo as the centerpiece in a trade for Upton in a heartbeat. I love Logan but Upton has superstar potential and has already shown glimpses of it in the bigs. I think he had some what of a down year last year because of a strained shoulder. Upton and Stanton in BP would be something to see. Both guys have crazy bat speed and drop serious bombs.

I definitely wouldn't want Carlos "I still haven't proven I'm a good player outside of Coors Field" Gonzalez.

November 17, 201015 yr and no one else caught that the Red Sox viewed Buck as a backup and not a starter ??? Why do we always have to settle for 2nds ? No wonder we haven't won anything since 2003.
November 17, 201015 yr Votto's offense is so enormous that I'd consider a trade involving those 2 as centerpieces.

Well we could of had that, but we took Skipworth instead. :confused Think of it, even if Heywood wouldn't have signed with us, we would have gotten another draft pick to make up for it, and would have blocked the Braves from getting their prize possession.
