February 4, 201114 yr Author PROVE IT! BTW, this is more a general discussion thread, not a "pick 'em" thread.
February 4, 201114 yr There's the 2010 NFL thread. That's just the way it's done (maybe the mods like it like that? I don't know.)
February 4, 201114 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=wojciechowski_gene&id=6088284&sportCat=nfl Madden NFL 11 picks the Steelers to win 24-20. Should the Packers be concerned about this? Yes. Madden has correctly picked six of the past seven Super Bowl winners. And it has been eerily close on the scores too. I'm just saying. neat. i've gotta throw money on the Steelers -3  anyone else bet? +how are you betting?
February 4, 201114 yr ^^ You mean Steelers +3 not - Right now I am leaning towards the OVER 44. Many say great defenses which both teams have but in doors that will be exploited to an extent IMO. They expect low scoring game always turns out to be the opposite. I also plan on taking a few props.

Doesn't fail in the Super Bowl, it seems.  Although I think this is probably the least predictable Super Bowl in a while.

February 4, 201114 yr We've never seen Aaron in the Superbowl, though. We know what Big Ben can do.   I'll still take the better quarterback. Ben and his boys are getting the benefit of the doubt for having the "experience;" seems like everyone is forgetting that he absolutely sucked in his first Super Bowl. The guy is considered "clutch" for one big GW pass that he made, which just so happened to be a great catch as well from Santonio Holmes.
February 4, 201114 yr No, he's getting it because everything he's done ever since he entered the NFL is remarkable and clutch. Not just the SB. The championship games. The playoff games. The man is just flat out clutch. He deserves it.

That just proves you have nothing to say.  Mark Sanchez has been consistently "clutch" in the playoffs, and he's only been in the league for two years.  What makes Ben Roethlisberger so "clutch?" I'm not trying to say he's bad or anything, but the main reason why he's going for his 3rd career Super Bowl win is due, in large part, to his consistent running game, and his amazing defense. The Steelers have been known for running the ball/stopping the run-playing defense since, forever. Again, if this was based solely on QB's, GB wins. Aaron Rodgers is the better QB, without question.  This was already proven this year, actually. The Steelers did just fine this year when Ben Roethlisberger missed time, and the likes of Byron Leftwich, Charlie Batch, and Dennis Dixon filled in for him. The Steelers are awesome because of their defense and running game.

The Steelers are awesome because of their defense and running game. And when he has, I gave him his credit. Ask Mystikol. I even said Sanchez is better than Henne. When ever he performs well, I credit it. It's just the hype that makes me "bash" him, if that's what you want to call it. Also, there's no way you can compare what Sanchez has done to Roethlisburgher. Have you seen the throws he makes? Honestly, have you? The two to Antonio Brown. The one to Holmes.  I agree. Rodgers is a better QB. Top 3, IMO. But, we've seen what Big Ben does. He's unbelievably clutch. Not saying Rodgers isn't or can't win, but I wouldn't put it against Big Ben. He's awesome.
February 4, 201114 yr Steelers 24 20. Super Bowl  MVP: Ike Taylor. EDIT: I actually made this prediction before Madden did its simulation.
February 4, 201114 yr yeah. obv i meant +3. i wanna say i was half asleep when i posted that. uhhhh i've been reading articles on the game and the lines for the past hour. i'm even more confused about everything right now. i think it's crazy no one in this entire country thinks either team is going to score over 24 (i've seen like ONE 27) Pouncey is out. ahhhhh ....still gotta go with Pitt +3. i think. i don't know. :confused
February 4, 201114 yr They call him Big Ben. But he weak though.   Green N' Yellow, Green N' Yellow, Green N' Yellow, Green N' Yellow...
February 5, 201114 yr If this was based solely on QB's, I'd pick the Packers. Aaron Rodgers>Ben Roethlisberger.  Big Ben has 2 rings, and has played stellar in the Super Bowl. What has Aaron Rodgers done? Don't get me wrong, I can't say that Rodgers will fail or something since he's been pretty good up to this point. Just that the Steelers have been in this position with two other teams (them not being the underdog/new Super Bowl appearance for the past umpteenth years).
