So happy GB won. Aaron Rodgers deserves it.

+1; he's awesome. They're going to be very good for a very long time, too.

Very, very long time. He didn't choke like Favre, and now he's FINALLY out of Favre's shadow. Not that he should have been there, but its the way things go.

Also, I think Rodgers has assured himself a place in the HOF.

Well, it looks like this time around I was pretty wrong.

Aaron Rodgers was not vomiting in the quarter, but neither was he deserving the MVP (it was more by default since it was such a team effort).

And Roethlisberger doesn't come through in the end. Good though, I was hoping he would drop dead on the field.

This is his third year as a starter, THIRD!

Yeah, they have amazingly few holes + the best young QB.

?

Was that the super bowl? Could have fooled me with the way everyone but Aaron Rodgers played. Seems like the Bears are the only ones that know how to slow that guy down.

Also, I'm questioning Donald Driver's toughness. Did he not know it was the super bowl? How dare he walk around on the sidelines!

That was an all around team effort. Could've just as easily gone to Clay Matthews or Greg Jennings. Usually a QB is singled out anyways. And before I hear stats, one or two of Rodgers TD were so incredibly easy, they were handed to him.

they matched up pretty well, if Pittsburgh doesn't turn the ball over I think they probably win that game. The Moore fumble was a real killer. The Packers forced all of them though so gotta give them credit.

They certainly deserved it today.

Really? Which TD's were those? Also, Rodgers did all of this tonight WITHOUT A RUNNING GAME. And he could've easily had 5 TD passes were it not for his receivers dropping passes that were hitting them right in the hands. He played a great game, and was clearly the best player in the game tonight.

Are you kidding? Which ones were those? He had to make >40 drives for some TDs (I believe 2 of them, one of them being like less than 30).

Of course I'm bitter.. I hate the packers and i have a ton of friends who are annoying packer fans. lol

But I am anxiously awaiting your criticism of Donald Driver. It's only fair.

Regardless, that's still impressive considering he was facing the best defense in football, and he did it all by himself. I seriously didn't think GB would end up winning because, as I predicted before the game, they were so one-dimensional. No running game; they didn't even try to run the football.

Also, as I said, he would've had even better #'s than his near perfect game, were it not for the handful of big passes his receivers dropped.

It was one of the better games I've seen a QB play in awhile, especially considering the defense and the fact that it was the Super Bowl. It was a much better overall game than any game "clutch" Ben Roethlisberger has ever put together in the Super Bowl.

And? He's going to keep up this pace, pile up the stats and retire with at least one ring. HOFer.

don't put quotations around clutch when speaking of big ben. He is clutch.

The media was using that before this game as proof that he was/is better than Rodgers. As I said before the game, I didn't think he was; I don't think he is. This just goes to prove that better is better; professional players don't just sh*t themselves everytime there's a big game, and "clutch" would mean that the guy steps everytime when his team needs him. I don't believe in clutch; players are human, and thus they'll always fail, sometimes.

All things considered, Big Ben doesn't have 2 Super Bowl rings if not for his amazing supporting cast. He's a good quarterback, but he shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with the likes of Brady/Manning, etc.

And this is one of the best performances by a QB in Super Bowl history. Seriously, it was a near perfect game. It probably would've been a perfect game, if not for the dropped passes. They're actually talking about it now on ESPN; Rodgers was amazing tonight. You have to take into account that the best defense in the NFL knew that GB had a weak running game; they knew that to win the game they had to stop one guy - Aaron Rodgers. Not only did they not stop him, they never even came close to containing him.

Yeah well in the end, the Packers capitalized on the turnovers as a unit. They scored TD's as a unit. Rodgers did not carry his team. I'm not discrediting him. I'm crediting the others, who aren't getting enough credit to begin with.

The Packers defense did get 3 turnovers, but Aaron Rodgers played a bigger part than anyone else in the win; he consistently carried the offense.............playing against an elite defense. No running game. His #2 WR got hurt in the middle of the game, and never came back. All things considered, it was really impressive, and he deserved the MVP award.

I never thought that he was better than Rodgers, either. My elite quaterbacks were always Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Rivers. I have Big Ben as a top 10, but not top 5.

Having said that, Big Ben is clutch. If you don't believe in professional athletes choking, then I don't know what to say. It happens, whether you want to believe it or not. There are players who choke, ala Nick Anderson who missed crucial FTs in the NBA finals, and there are players like Big Ben, who make throws to win the Superbowl.

Agreed with your list of QB's.

Regarding the clutch thing, I think it evens out, as the sample becomes larger. I don't recall a player in my lifetime of watching sports that stepped up/was way better in the playoffs than he was in the regular season. At the end of the day, you are who you are.

Erick you're a statistics freak. Watch the god damn game dude. Analyze what's going on. Rodgers had just as many throws over his receivers heads/behind his receivers as [Jordy Nelson] dropped.

Statistically it might have been 'perfect' simply because Rodgers did everything he needed to do to not screw up. He hardly was in control of that game. He had a handful of 3-and-out drives.

The Steelers f***ed up (fumble, 2 INT = 3 turnovers). Just as much credit is deserved to Clay Matthews, but since Clay Matthews doesn't get fantasy football statistics it's often underlooked. He's not a centerpiece.

What about Nick Collins TD INT? That arguably was the difference in the game. This wasn't a Brady performance. It certainly wasn't perfect. He didn't exactly come up when his team needed him. He wasn't clutch in any way (well, performing well in a Super Bowl is clutch, but I mean in terms of game play).

I agree that the Steelers shot themselves in the foot but if Nelson and Jones could catch, he would have approached 400 yards and thrown for 4 TDs. Rogers was clearly the best and most valuable player on the field.

Here are Rodgers last 10 games and his QB ratings (not counting DET game where he got concussed), Guess which two are Chicago.

Hey opposing coaches, might be time to study tapes of the Bears defense when facing Rodgers. Patience is the name of the game when playing him. Blitz him and he'll eat you alive. And keeping him off the field by not turning it over helps too.
