3 dots said that Loria may make a big move. They just said on YES that Carlos Peña has only a 1 year deal at the Cubs. Is there any chance that we may target Peña for a 2 or 3 year deal and then move Gaby in a trade or over to 3rd ?

Thanks for any comments, and lets Cheer on our Marlins !

I would doubt it. If they didn't Gaby there to accommodate LoMo a better firstbaseman last year, I wouldn't think they would do so to take on the salary of the Mendoza line hitting Pena.

Okay thanks guys. I just wondered because they said that the Cubs will get rid of Peña and target both Pujols and Fielder. That would leave Peña on the market for us. But if you guys don't think that would not work then okay.

GABY SANCHEZ CAN'T PLAY 3B!

But, but, he did in college!

Of course, by that logic, I am an all-star 2nd baseman based upon non-pro ball.

I'd rather have Hayes at first than Pena. He's not a solution to anything for us.

Didn't Gaby used to play catcher as well? :mischief

You know I think he did when he was a freshman at Miami. I seem to remember that too. But I don't think he could play there professionally. But you never know.

Why would we move Gaby anyways? He's an amazing 1B. Our team is losing so let's move the only guy playing well on both sides of the ball. Yep, makes sense.

It's okay. Gaby Sanchez can play DH pretty well when we're in the AL next season :lol

No he's not. He's average at best defensively. He just brings a bat to the park.

Bob's eyes > statistics

I don't get how anyone can think Gaby to 3B is a good idea based on what he did in college.

Gaby needs to be a part of our future.

He had a good rookie year and he is raking this season.

Considering he is just entering his prime he should be a Marlin for the next 3-4 years at minimum.
