yeah i mean i noticed it too tonight, but let's see if he can do it for a while. he had a few good stretches with us too but they were few and far between,

Hopefully he keeps it up. He'll need to higher his K rate, though.

Take a look at Cameron Maybin in San Diego. He's doing a pretty good job, too.

Difference being that Maybin's #'s are legit, while Miller will be seeking another job soon.

Um, yeah? Miller couldn't retire little leaguers when he was here.

Just wait till he needs to face the Yankees, Blue Jays and Rays.

And in regards to Cameron Maybin doing well in SD - he's a cheat! Walking on 3 balls....

Miller has won 2-3 starts with a a no-decision 3.03 ERA

Seems the Red Sox are happy with him

couldn't we have signed him to a minor league deal as they did, what was there to lose anyway???

It's not like we have a hell of alot of talent in the minors he would have blocked

It actually seems like it may be coming together finally for Andrew Miller

We'll find out sooner or later if that's true.

17 innings against 3 bad offensive teams, and his WHIP and K/9 are subpar. I'm not impressed yet.

It's be nearly as silly to say that Brad Hand is ready to be a regular frontline starter because he has a 3.79 ERA in 19 IP.

just the fact that this discussion is occurring is remarkable considering how Miller was pitching the last couple years. he was about to be out of baseball (or nearly should've been) and is now starting on one of MLB's premier, best teams.

Or because he had a quality start for the Boston Red Sox yesterday.

No, he definitely had good stretches while he was here. 4 outings in 08 he had a 1.60 ERA, 3 in 09 he had a 3.00 ERA, 4 in 2010 (1 start, two relief, and another start) he had a 3.60 ERA.

He needs consistency.

he had enough chances here and failed.....

He had those good stretches, but his lows were incredibly bad, leading to these numbers in those seasons: '08 5.87 ERA (20 GS), '09 4.84 ERA (14 GS), '10 8.54 ERA (7 GS). And that's without even accounting for some of those beyond laughable minor-league starts where he was walking 9 guys in 3 innings.

Ok, cool. At the pace he's going, he's definitely going to have his fair share of low's pitching in the AL East, as well.

Yeah, that's my point.

He'll probably get a win tonight, but not without a 4 walk/0 strikeout performance.

Yea, he's getting ridiculously lucky.

His luck ran out tonight.

He finally faced a good team.

Normal service resumed. Why did I ever start to believe he had turned a corner.....

I remember when Andrew Miller had that good game that one time.
