Posted August 10, 201113 yr Yeah, I don't want Jack back here next year, either. f*** that style of baseball.
August 10, 201113 yr Why do I still watch? Such a waste of time. It almost seems like they want to lose.

August 10, 201113 yr Yeah, it's clear we're not as good as these good teams. But still, the complete and utter inability to win against anyone better than the Nationals is pretty amazing.
August 10, 201113 yr The overreactions are always nice... A week ago, McKeon was the sh*t. Now, he's apparently just sh*t. I can't believe after watching baseball for so long, there are still people who go crazy over every little thing that happens. This is an 81-81 team. It's been apparent since the beginning of the season. Are we garbage? Not even close. Are we playoff ready? Not even close. But let's stop being stupid and looking for scapegoats. Sometimes a team is what it is. Don't expect wins against a good Braves team when an already slightly above average team is ravaged by injuries to guys like Hanley, JJ, Murphy, etc... I have no idea why I just typed that. I just get slightly annoyed at the day to day ranting from some people on this board *cough* Erick *cough*. I don't want endless amounts of praise on this board. I know we lost, so people will bitch. But stop looking for a different scapegoat each and every time we lose. Sometimes you lose because the other team is just better. The Braves are better right now than us. They should beat us when we send out guys like Vazquez and Hensley. We say this every year, but this year is pretty irrelevent. We had really no chance from the get go given how amazing the Braves and Phillies are. Next year we have to make the playoffs. If we don't, that's when we should start fearing the Braves and Phillies running away with this division for the next 5 or so years.
August 10, 201113 yr Another loss and it's been a while since Stanton has homered :confused Its hard to homer when he gets walked 2-3 times a game.

August 10, 201113 yr This team is frustrating...I don't care for rest of season, but...off season needs to be big. Boni needs to start somewhere next season...need two FA on team...maybe another for bench..re-sign some guys...make it to where ESPN and or MLBN says Marlins are a threat. Â And LoMo is Hermida like...except he cares more. And no beard...
August 10, 201113 yr pretty depressing to not only watch us blow those opportunities but to let prado beat us again. i was hoping they would walk him. you just cant let him keep beating you.
August 10, 201113 yr that 8th inning kinda pissed me off. Â Atlanta got the matchup they wanted in O'Flaherty vs LoMo and Logan sucked. 'Course most of the team has sucked lately so whatever.

'Course most of the team has sucked lately so whatever.  To be far to LoMo he has 5/6 stitches above his knee from a very deep slash from what I heard. His stance/swing just didn't look right to me let alone the flex in the leg. He had at least went out and tried his best.

The same pitch twice in a row, right down the middle, and he took both. I can understand the first one, but when he doubles up on it in the EXACT same spot? Come on, vet.
August 10, 201113 yr 2nd worst home record in baseball at 23-36. No point in going to home games.  Anyone up for a road trip whenever the Marlins travel?

I've NEVER been a fan of bunting a guy from first to second for the sake of moving a runner over. It doesn't really increase your odds of scoring in an inning. That's just stupid baseball. Also, I'm not sure which opinion of mine has changed. The only thing I love about Jack McKeon are his high socks. Aside from that, I don't really care; for the most part, all managers are overrated. I've been pretty consistent in saying this, throughout. Heck, if it was up to me, Edwin Rodriguez would still be managing this team. Edit: I've also been pretty consistent in saying that this team sucks for awhile now. I never bought into the July turnaround, which was a result of a sh*tty schedule. When they play bad teams, they play well; when they play good teams, they look like sh*t. They've been more consistent than people think.
August 11, 201113 yr McKeon's affinity toward bunting is the only thing about his in-game management that turns me off. Relatively speaking, I think he uses the bullpen and bench well. Sometimes I think he's reading my mind.
