August 25, 201114 yr Who did we get in return? Or was this a Cody Ross situation? I took the $20.00 waiver claim fee in lieu of a return member. Tough economy. I haven't seen any rumors about any of our players currently being on waivers. I was wondering the same thing, but as Rab said only Choate seems to have been mentioned. Odd if we didn't bother to put others on waivers. Maybe they just weren't reported.
August 25, 201114 yr Isn't it common practice for teams to put almost all players thru revocable waivers, to test trade possibilities? I don't think teams have to say who was placed on W. Most just get pulled back (except of course salary dumps like Cody).

Most just get pulled back (except of course salary dumps like Cody). Yes, most teams do this often, particularly with vets who have large contracts. I'm pretty sure MLB rules permit teams to not have to disclose waiver actions like these, since they're not involved in releasing a player or anything. Typically we only find out players placed on waivers through media leaks.
