Stanton injures left wrist

Featured Replies

The Mets announcers seemed excited, hoping he was done for the season. After the pitch hit him, they said "boy, not something Marlins fans want to see!" about three times.

I hate those guys with a passion.

Dim should write an article about how f***ed up we'd be without Stanton like he did last year.

dim should write an article about how much he f***ing hates Dr Beinfest and his conniving, cheating ways.

By the way, x-rays were negative & he's listed as day-to-day.

Yes, was mentioned earlier, my good sir.

However, I do like good news, so post it one more time. :D

It wasn't mentioned earlier.

What was mentioned was that Stanton wrote on twitter that "all is good" & that he's "ready to go."

He's not "ready to go" though. He's day-to-day & as I mentioned earlier, he isn't even travelling with the team to Fort Myers.

So basically what I posted is slightly worse than what you previously thought.

Nevertheless, I'm happy to hear that you enjoy my posts. :)

Marlins have already said that Stanton won't travel to Ft. Myers tomorrow. No point of risking anything. The Marlins trainers said they don't think he broke his wrist, but again, there's no real way of knowing anything for sure without x-rays. Stanton said his hand isn't too bad right now & that it simply "locked up" right after it was hit. He predicts it will be "nice and fat" tomorrow.

marlins.com says he was pretty ticked off about it. Pitching someone up and in on a wet day probably isn't the best of ideas during ST. And the other day when he came to the plate w/bases loaded, he K'd swinging on 3 pitches. Guess they didn't know that. They also pitched Gaby up and in. Had him ducking away from one, too. I really don't agree w/that thinking this early in ST, but whatever.... We play them a few more times this Spring. Let's see if Ozzy sends a message.

Even though Giancarlo Stanton’s wrist X-rays were negative, Guillen doesn’t anticipate him playing for a few days. He’ll likely be sore where he was hit by a pitch Sunday, and Guillen doesn’t want the problem to flare up.

Still feeling soreness in wrist. Won't return until at least Thursday.

Stanton, Miami's cleanup hitter, won't return until Thursday at the earliest. Stanton, who was hit by a pitch Sunday against the Mets, was still feeling soreness in his left wrist Tuesday after taking batting practice.

I remember when baseball was a man's game - when throwing up and in was an accepted intimidation tactic, when take out slides were a good hardnosed play, when collisions at the plate were a consequence of trying to block the plate.

Damn you Buster Posey and your twig legs.

I remember when baseball was a man's game - when throwing up and in was an accepted intimidation tactic

Not to mention that the hitters who were being thrown up and in didn't wear any kind of helmet, and didn't think that they ever should; I'm referring to the early-'60s.

Of course, it only took one or two guys getting severely bonked in the ol' noggin to put an end to that.

Giancarlo will be out "a couple more days" according to Ozzie...

Giancarlo Stanton is still sore and will be out a couple more days, manager Ozzie Guillen said Wednesday morning. Stanton hasn't played since he was hit on the left wrist by a fastball against the Mets on Sunday.
