pollythewog
Ruggiano still rules. The rest of them however..... Also, I bet my friend ruggiano would out-ops Hanley from the all star game on. I fear I'm going to win.

Watcha talkin bout Willis?
I've been following this team since i was 11 years old (I'm 17). And we haven't come very close to the post season in any season since. I started following in 98 when I was...8. I followed that whole season. Then 99,00,01,02 I didn't follow as closely until 03 which I followed from the beginning. You may not have witnessed the Marlins be good during a season but I think there is a little bit of dignity in having won all of our playoff series as opposed to being like the Braves or Phillies and choking in the postseason. canada-marlin24
What a lifeless game. Only the marlins can make 31,000 seem like 10,000. This series could be our season. A split is the worst we can do.
...
Yup. As it stands, they have to play .645 ball for the entire rest of the season to win 90 games. A split of this series requires .644 thereafter. Only the Yankees have played even .616 ball through 86 games. Our odds of exceeding that over the remaining 76 games are rather poor, to say the least. Even if you assume 85 wins will get a play-off spot (rather unlikely,) .579 ball is required. Only the Yankees, Texas and Washington have done that thusfar. They need to run off some strings of wins, and soon, or they can forget the post-season. Not sure how that happens without Stanton, Bonifacio, Mujica and Oviedo notwithstanding. Zero
Ozzie is pretty frustrating. “Hanley struggling right now at the plate. A soon as Hanley starts hitting the ball better he will be moved back to where he is supposed to be, manager Ozzie Guillen said. Guillen eventually would like to see Ramirez bat third. “But he has got to start hitting the way he needs to hit to earn that spot, Guillen said. “When he starts swinging the bat better, then we move him to batting third because that is the place he should be. http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/marlins/2012/07/13/hanley-ramirez-dropped-in-marlins-batting-order/ Its frustrating how he moves Hanley down and does not move up Ruggiano. Hottest hitter on the team presently and he is hitting 6th, its borderline moronic.
...
In defense of Ozzie, how was he going to move Ruggiano up? He loves Lee, so he hits 3, LoMo (who was heating up) 4, Hanley 5. He probably wanted to hit Hanley 6 and Ruggiano 5, but figured Hanley wouldn't handle that well. And Hanley probably wouldn't have. I'd try Reyes, Boni, Ruggs, Lee, LoMo, Hanley, Enfante, Buck. Switch Boni and Enfante if needed. Couldn't be much worse than what they've been doing, and we'd shortly find out if Ruggs can handle the pressure. Ozzie's defense if Hanley gets mad is pretty simple. Well Hanley, look at the numbers...you kinda suck! It's a priviledge, not a right, not only to be here, but to bat inthe middle of the line up. With that being said, I'm hoping Hanley has a huge second half.

Must not have been following too closely. 2009. We were close. Would have been in had it not been for May of that year and an inept Fredi Gonzalez continuing to hit a struggling Bonifacio first.
