Admin
Logan Morrison was placed on the 15 day DL with right knee inflammation, and Ryan Webb was recalled from AAA.
Michael
Maybe more loose bodies! Didn't he get a surgery on that knee? Also, maybe this explains some things. EITHER WAY, DAMN IT, LOMO!
pach233
I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. The knee has clearly been affecting him all year and with the team not really in the hunt its better for him just to get it healthy.
Michael
"Logan Morrison had mri done in may revealed a tear in petallar tendon, surgery a possibility #marlins he is on the 15 day DL and may be out for the season." From the Marlins Nation Facebook page ... I don't know how accurate this may be, but if he had an MRI in MAY, and we're finding out NOW ... that ain't right! NOTtheILMarlins
Hopefully this is why he can't hit. Get well soon LoMo.
Adrenaline
Trade lee already. If the marlins ruin lomos career by playing him in lf I'm going to be pissed. This. Please.
AeroFishOne
He survey and be good for next year. Don't f*** with this stuff any more. Ozzie evidentally ripped the Marlins for allowing him to play in Taiwan with the bad knee. It didn't really make sense to me either. For you conspiracy junkies, wonder if there was any coincidence about the timing of this with the twitter blowup stuff.

If Lomo is out for the year just bring Gaby back up but atleast get some value for Lee.

I don't see what the point is in waiting if they detected it earlier. He hasn't really been hitting well all year and he is a butcher in the outfield. If they've known all along how severe the knee injury is, it's even more ridiclous that they went out and got Carlos Lee to play first while it was the perfect opportunity to move Morrison there with Gaby sucking. Marlins
If LoMo couldn't hit this whole time because he's injured maybe Hanley is injured also? Or for that matter, Buck and the entire Marlins offense.

Or for that matter, Buck and the entire Marlins offense. I don't think it's necessarily true that the injury was causing him to hit poorly. I think it's more the fact this his lack of offensive and defensive contributions should have made it more palatable to have the surgery earlier. Erick
It's ridiculous that the organization let him keep playing for months despite this. And then they acquired Carlos Lee to keep him in LF.
AeroFishOne
Ozzie quote from the Herald     "In the past, they do stupid (expletive) here," Guillen told the Herald and Post. "They let him go to Asia and play and have his surgery knowing spring training is coming up. It ain't going to happen again. They worry about more (expletive) off the field than worry about what happens here. I think it's more important, the Miami Marlins, than the USA team, or whatever he was doing. I think they knew he had this problem during (last season). I'm not going to blame anyone, but think about it. There's a lot of (expletive) we've got to clean up, and that's my job." Or for that matter, Buck and the entire Marlins offense. I had heard that Hanley's uterus was bothering him for some time! Now back to being serious. As I've said time and time again the Marlins need to change their medical staff, this happens far too often that a minor injury turns out to be a big one, or they let an injury linger
Sirspud
How will we ever do without Lomo's production? Pretty soon we'll have to give up on the season and starting trading away our talented players. It's good that this happened though, because now he can take the Hermida defense to being a floundering prospect, nevermind that Stanton has been on fire when actually on the field despite knee problems. Ozzie is starting to get on my good side, especially with him sticking to his guns by not using Heath Bell in the ninth. Too bad it doesn't matter anymore if Bell blows games. Yep there was no point for Lomo to go to Taiwan. I'm sure someone in the FO or Loria is going to be pissed off at him though.

While I agree with him on Lomo, he's a long way away from respectability. I really don't think he should be praised for not using Bell in the 9th. Considering he seemed to be the main architect in keeping him there for an absurd amount of time, and he almost immediately went back on his word the first time Bell was removed from the role (because Cishek got unlucky and blew one save). Somehow I think Ozzie was under a lot of pressure from the FO to continue to use Bell as the closer, so the FO wouldn't look as bad making a poor investment. I wouldn't put all the blame on him for his use of the bullpen, especially early in the year.

But based on his history with Jenks in Chicago, Loria coming out and saying the decision was Ozzie's, and some of the conversations with Bell on the Franchise, I'm far from convinced he wasn't a major cog at some point. It could be posturing from the FO like you say, but the evidence indicates otherwise.
DolphinJohn
Why do we like LoMo again? Are we still waiting for him to break out and play up to his potential? He sucks. Can't play D, healthy or not, LF, 1B, whatever. Sucks. Runs in to a pitch now and then but really not a good hitter.
Michael
Apparently, he's had a really injured knee since May, which is when he started to tail off. He had a nice end to June / beginning to July, but that was it. Why he was even playing if it's true he got an MRI in May revealing a patellar tear ...
