2012 MLB Trade Deadline Thread

If they were smart they would trade him, even if it meant accepting a low offer. His contract is ridiculous.

Danny Valencia was traded to the Red Sox.

Mike Fontenot released by the Phillies.

Marlins should go after him, he's a solid MLB level hitter with some pop even though his defense can be a little shaky.

@SBerthiaumeESPN: ESPNBoston's @GordonEdes reports: #RedSox & #Dodgers working on deal that would send AGon, Crawford, Beckett and Punto to LA.

Idiots.

That would be insane. That's a lot of salary going to LA, but I imagine the Sox would be paying a hefty sum.

They were all claimed on waivers, I believe. The Dodgers are responsible for the salaries. So Boston won't have to pay a dime.

Ken Rosenthal did retweet that Boston would send some cash to LA.

You're right. I don't think it will be a significant amount, though. Still way too much money to take on.

Wish we put Bell, Buck and Nolasco on waivers, lol.

Championship!

I'm sure we did, but no one wants those guys. Especially Bell and Nolasco.

At least Buck is starting to hit a bit.

Not really sure what la or Boston is doing here. Why the f*** would Boston want James lonely. Loney 3 years ago maybe but I don't see why they want to get of Gonzalez. His ops is down but his hits, doubles, average, and RBI are all great.

Crawford and Beckett I understand.

His HR power has been declining the past 3 years, he's 30 years old, and he has a lot of years/money left on his contract.
