The Marlins will sign shortstop Rafael Furcal to a one-year deal, tweets FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal. The idea, Rosenthal reports, is that Furcal will be their everyday second baseman.

The move to 2nd base should help out

Take out 3B and 1B and hopefully hech improves and oh man, I like it. We went from a 62 win team to a 73 win team with these 2 signings in my opinion. 19 more to go.

Really think they should pursue Morales next, if not try to get Michael Young or Yuniesky Betencourt to fill in at 3rd.

Yeah with this signning I don't think the Marlins sign a 3b and look to fill that slot internally with Dietrich. They are not going to spend big at that position with Moran around the corner and if they do anyting it might be a 1 year deal type FA(Bentancourt/Chavez ect).

 

Remember the Marlins are not going to get close to that 50 mi cap. 45 tops and they are not far off considering what they have to pay in arbritration.
