Buck hasn't OPS'd above .700 since 2010. Salty hasn't OPS'd below .700 since 2010.

boosh

To be fair, his power #s were a result of playing in Fenway those three years and he has always been awful at getting on base(under .300 in 2011 and 2012) outside of a flukey 2013. At a less hitter friendly park, its easy to say he would possibly be an under .700 OPS player

His power numbers this year have been like identical to what they were in Boston, so this is not really correct as much as you want to continue to spew it out.

As Erick pointed out, fluke month of April.

^^

That is incredibly important. People sometimes ignore things that happened because it doesn't fit nicely into their own narrative.

I would rather watch Derek Dietrich play against lefty starters than Donovan Solano play against anyone.

Why does Redmond hate Dietrich so much? He'll let shit players like Ed Lucas or Hechavarria into the line up and be useless 90 percent of the time, but as soon as Dietrich has some bad nights, oh shit, we better bench him.

Fuck Redmond. Play the kid you dumb bastard.

Mr. Beefcake:

Wilson's Defensive Player of the Year for the Marlins -- 2013. Yes, it's actually true. Never mind those 8 errors.

http://miami.marlins.mlb.com/news/article/mia/infielder-donovan-solano-named-marlins-top-defensive-player?ymd=20131107&content_id=63769442&vkey=news_mia

Hasn't committed an error this year. At least not according to the official scorers, yet he manages to totally blow not one, but two plays in one inning, with the effing game on the line.

Then, there's that stellar line -- 188/244/238/482.

He truly is the turd that won't flush. Which is probably more of a commentary on a total lack of infield depth than the totally useless Mr. 5' 9" Beefcake.

And Redmond not only babbles about how it was "in the heat of battle" but can't be brought to PH for this moron. If I never saw him in a Marlins uniform again, it would be too soon.

Unfortunately, he'll probably be out there again today. And tomorrow...

It's shocking the leash they've given Solano. It's like he can do no wrong even when he clearly does everything wrong, or at least when he does nothing right.

Seems like Redmond blames Cyshek.

Every time he was asked about Solano or any other losing factor, he pretty much answered with "well when you walk the lead off guy who is also the fastest"...

Oh, I have to post this gripe somewhere and since it happened at this game, here it goes.

I was at yesterday's game, sitting in the second row of my section. Directly in front of me in the first row was two pairs of fans, an old married couple, and a middle aged man with his daughter who was probably 9 years old. The old couple was super quiet but seemingly intent on watching the game. The man and his daughter were very into it, I could hear the dad turning to his daughter to teach her some tidbits about the game, she cheered for everything but, wearing her Stanton jersey, she screamed at the top of her lungs for anything Giancarlo did. I also found dad a bit funny cuz he'd occasionally blurt out some over the top cheesy baseball announcer cliches during certain situations, all with an old timey cartoonish voice. "Da count is full, here's the pay off pitch, a little too much mustard on that one, sa-wing and a miss!" Cute stuff as his daughter ate it up.

Then in about the top of the 7th inning strolls in a pair of Philly fans. Coming along with his out of shape and damn ugly girlfriend, the guy, mid to late 20s, sees the four fans in his seats and goes "You are all in our seats. 5, 6, 7, and 8. Get out." The man with his daughter looks up at him and the guy just nods with a smirk like Yeah you heard me, move. I'm pretty sure the man's daughter being there saved the idiot Philly fan from losing a few teeth. So the four fans start getting up, fairly slowly actually, and the Philly fan starts doing a dance with his hands pointing them away. Picture an a**hole air traffic controller on the runway dancing as he guides the plane in the proper direction. The guy was so happy to kick these four fans out. I don't have this one confirmed but u could hear the nearby fans grumbling over how much of a punk that guy was and the guy behind me was venting to his wife and according to him he saw the guy say "I'm a Phillies fan, so get the f*** out of my seats."

Wow.

First off, I know the four fans were out of their seats but when you aren't in your seats for the first six innings, I see nothing wrong with a couple fans taking your seats to get a better view or just for comfort even. We've all done it. Its not like they were not gonna give you back the seats. They knew they were in the wrong seats, ask kindly and they'll readily move. Philly fan or not, the guy didnt have to be a d*ck about it. But the fact that he is a Philly fan and feels entitled to be like that? Think what would happen if a rude Fish fan goes to Citizens Bank Park and starts disgustingly kicking Phillies fans out of their seats. This is not your ballpark, fool. Thinking back, he's lucky he wasn't in a section with more, I guess testosterone? Because it didnt have to be those four people to say something. There's probably a lot of people who would have said something strong to him. I was dying to win the game to ruin that idiot's night.

Thanks a lot, Solano.

Cishek been off for a couple games now. I absolutely despise when Red and other managers bunt to move a runner up. IT'S ESPECIALLY FRUSTRATING WHEN YOU DO THAT IN THE 9TH DOWN BY ONE FUCKING RUN!!!!!

HEY YOU NEED 3 OUTS. HERE YOU GO, PAPELBON. WE GOT YOU..SMFHHH

SORRY FOR THE MINI-RANT.

Well if you want to get technical, his ISO is 16 points lower and SLG 54 points lower than last year. I'm no mathematician, but those #s don't look very "identical" to me.

That is terrible to hear. It is up to us in these situations to be mature adults and lead by example to younger fans.

Did you consider purposely inducing vomit on him? And making it seem like an accident?

Well... While I wish I could have done that, the example I made to my son next to me was to not pick a fight with the guy, but to instead cheer like no end when Baker came up with that triple in the eighth.

Knowing me I wouldve stood up and got in that douche face and dared him to do something.. Then sit right back down on those seats.

Spike, I gotta say, the level of efficiency with that post is incredible.

Well thanks.

I am going to do my best to point out the flaws in Wild Card's line of thought actually. See, I could tell him that yes, that month of April DID happen. But since April, he has OPS'd .588. See, in Wild Card's world, that post-April stretch is irrelevant, and only the overall #s matter. And I would reply to him, well, "It still happened".

I ended up getting into fight in 2012 with some drunk pirates fans who snuck down in the 8th inning. Not my proudest moment. Although the thank you's I got was well worth it.

Realistically, I would have invited those two groups to sit next to you. Moments like that are teaching lessons for younger kids on how not to act. Good for you for not adding fuel to the fire.

My experience is Pennsylvania sports fans are the worst.

Well thanks.

So you think Salty is a .588 OPS player?
