August 17, 201412 yr Can't wait for Fernandez - Alverez - other guys. Don't care who makes up the rest of the rotation, that 1-2 punch is going to be amazing if both guys keep form when Jose is back. Not that the other three would be bad, mind you...but if Alverez pitches like this (or improves a little) next year and Jose pitches like Jose, might have a competition for Cy Young on our team Unlikely, sure, but one can imagine.

Louis (who is currently losing) and san fran (who beat the phillies). 8 games away from nationals could be very hard to overcome headed into august 17th with 39 to go. But we have our first and hopefully only shot to tie last year's win total.

August 17, 201412 yr There are too many numbers to display how much better Jose is than Alvarez but I'll just leave this: Jose accumulated a 1.6 WAR in just 51 IP this year. Alvarez? 2 WAR in 140+ IP. Love having both of them though.
