Hi everyone.

 

I've dropped the Scrambles persona and probably won't bring it back [at least on this account] for a while, because I needed to make a rather serious, personal post. Many of you know me as "Bender", a good number as "Mike" and if you can remember way back when I first signed on in July of 2004, I began as "Manjenson". In my 11 years as a member of MarlinsBaseball, I've made some friends and some of you, I consider my MB family. We've stuck together through good, bad, and ugly [and boy has there been a lot of ugly].

 

I've been on this site for 11 years now, and this is the ... ugh, wow, fifth post of this type that I've made ... and far and away, this one is the most difficult.

 

I got the news earlier today (Monday) that my mother has passed away at the age of 53. Currently, I'm in a good amount of pain, but at the same time, I know that she now no longer is, nor will she feel pain again, which does bring some comfort.

 

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do right now - I may disappear from here for a while, or I may end up coming here to use it as a distraction. I'll figure that out when I need to.

 

However, what I do know is that ... you all here have always made me feel welcome, you've always treated me well ... I love that many of us have some inside jokes and running gags from years ago. This place has felt like another home to me and that's why I feel I can tell all of you this. I love you all, and I'm happy to call this haven a home.

 

Don't know what else to say now. So, I suppose, for now, signing off ...

 

I'll be back soon enough.
