LA offered him a 2 year extension, tried to retain him but they wanted to change the coaching staff. That coupled with Don's dislike for being on the hot seat constantly led to him wanting a fresh start elsewhere.

He's under contract through next year and is extremely likely to return. Only ways he won't is if he doesn't want to or if new manager doesn't want him. Both are unlikely.

I'm watching Around The Horn. Plaschke said they didn't offer him an extension. I believe everything I hear on these garbage ESPN shows.

I'd expect this gets done ASAP. Way before the World series actually. i doubt any other owner is willing to go all out for Don, that is make him the highest paid manager and full-control of his staff.
