Baseball is a team sport, very rarely is a loss the sole fault of one player... Yes that first inning blew and yes we only got two hits, even worse especially off Hendricks who apparently sucks on the road.... But it's really hard for me not to focus on the guy who did nothing right... A hit, two walks, a hit by pitch and a run given up in five batters faced? It's the "you had one job" meme. If Dunn wasn't in, sure we could have still lost but Dunn himself greatly fucked up our chances. Yes we only had two hits but there's a bunch of hitters who could have connected on a solo home run at any given point and given us the lead. You can't just say "ah we only got two hits so it's ok that Dunn couldn't throw strikes" ...the reliever needs to throw strikes and get outs, Mike Dunn absolutely has sucked at that this year and for the significant role he currently holds in the bullpen he can't afford to be that bad. Ok... That's my rant. Get em today!

I just don't understand why he continues to get opportunities in significant innings. Needs to prove himself in other innings first.

I know it's a short sample size this season, but lefties are hitting .333 against Dunn right now. Bleh.

I'm guessing because of track record and being the veteran lefty etc etc... It makes sense until you realize how much he's sucked this year. Again though, Donnie has nothing better in his role.

I suppose. Still, gotta go with the best available option, and like @Erick has said [not sure if here or another thread, but either way], you can't just send out Barraclough, Phelps, and Ramos every night. Personally would have gone Wittgren or Ellington there, more-so the former. Ugh, if only we had Capps. Ah well.

I do wonder, though, if Capps were healthy to begin the year and maintained his health, does Phelps still get moved into the one inning role? I'd have to imagine no. But goodness, imagine ...

dunn should be put in when the score is 10-0 either way.

Can we have some wiggle room? Like, 6-0?

could point. marlins barely score 10 runs, let alone 6.
