I have not been to Opening Day since 1993 (I was 10). I live in Tampa now and am coming down for the first two games.I have been to Marlins Park for like 15-20 games, so I am familiar with what is at the Park on a Normal game day. I usually try to get autographs from Marlins players and have not had much luck at batting Practice. Should I get a little more luck on opening night? Is there anything extra to expect other than the Introduction of the entire roster? How early does that introduction start? I dont want to miss that? Also is there anywhere to get autographs after the game? I know Dolphin Stadium was easier for visting teams because the bus parks at the gate. When do players park now? Is it worth hanging out?

You're over thinking it. It's the same as it was in 93. Nothing has changed. Be sure to stop at a Blockbuster on your way home to pick up a movie to watch afterwards.

Last year they had Michael Buffer announce the roster. Was cool, I guess. Not sure what's the plan for this season. It all started I think an hour before the game, so I assume 6. As for player parking and autographs, they park on the upper level of the home plate garage. But I don't expect there'll be much signing at least for a couple weeks.

Yeah I would rather they take the traditional approach to Opening Day. Although Buffer was pretty cool last year, the players running through the crowd was tacky but not as bad as 2012.

Line them up on the foul lines and let's win a game.

Visiting teams come out of the south side of the stadium while the Marlins come out the north side. I'm going to skip out on opening day this year for the first time in over a decade. I am going to game 2, however.

I don't mind a degree of pageantry for Opening Day but considering how overblown some of ours have been especially compared to our lack of on field success, yeah I'm totally down with scaling it down this year. God Bless America with a flyover and the flag on the field and that's it.

Maybe play the Taiwanese anthem for Chen and call it a day.

And have Chen be the singer.

The Marlins try to emulate the Yankees in a lot of ways, but they still have a tendency to have these stunts that you would expect from a single A team in Mississippi.

Did they finally fire the douche responsible for all of the cringeworthy stunts?

As a matter of fact, yes there is someone new this year.

I don't believe he was fired though, just left for a new gig.

Speaking of what to expect, @Admin , do you know if they expanded the netting behind home plate to reach further down the line? I like to sit behind the dugouts, but it's a risk I don't like to subject my family to.

That probably costs money so I'm gonna guess no they didn't unless Admin himself paid for it.
