June 20, 201610 yr but if you're looking to make moves with an eye on the postseason this year trading Dietrich would be a horrible move because if they DO make the playoffs then we'd be stuck with starting Rojas since Dee will be ineligible for any playoff games this year. Not a smooth move. I'm hoping for Chen to simply find his mojo that he's had in previous years (maybe a post ASG bounce back?). That alone would be like upgrading a #5 (based on how he's pitched) to a #3. it would be nice to see Loria basically take on the opposite role the Fish have had in the past where we actually eat the salary in order to get a better player for a lesser prospect. Bullpen has come together nicely and we have a nice pecking order established to close out the games. I could see them going after a long reliever though too - maybe one that could even make a spot start to help out with Jose's innings.

Having the chen he is known for can be like a trade. he's a liability at this point so old form is just like acquiring a brand new player. I hope the same for Stanton as well and he has played a big role in Friday and Saturday's win. other than a fifth starter, id like to think we are all set going into this.

I'm pretty much in the same camp as you. Getting the normal stanton back would be like picking up a huge piece at the deadline, I've had to keep telling my wife that when she comes up with trade ideas that if two of our bigger pieces just return to career norms we'll be set up mighty nicely down the stretch.

He is under club control for a long time and with Dee not being eligible for the post season we have to have him. If we trade any infielder it should be Prado. He has and expiring contract, having a good year and will be desired but he probably isn't a long term investment. Trading Dietrich would be an awful move unless you got a shit load for him.
June 20, 201610 yr I know he is coming off an injury, but Alex Cobb would be a great boost to this rotation.
June 20, 201610 yr Author I can guarantee everyone here that Prado will not be traded. He is the team captain and is not just a high hitting 3rd baseman. So get that thought out of your heads. When it comes to the deadline I just see us eating a contract or simply not doing anything which I imagine would be very unlikely.

And to be fair, the defense always throws the ball to him at the end of the inning. That definitely screams leadership material.

June 20, 201610 yr So typical. Those who would be opposed to trading Ozuna are most likely the ones who wanted him gone after last year for nothing. You have to get value for value here. Ozuna is not a super star or ever will be. He doesn't have the mental makeup to be one. He's a fine player. No way will he be a consistent all star caliber player. It's time to trade now Ozuna is a contract guy. Once he gets it then he won't be nearly this focused. I bet next year stats will be significantly lower than this years.

The problem is that the starting rotation is awful outside of Jose. I don't see how they can stay in the race with that 2 through 5, let alone win a playoff series.
June 21, 201610 yr #Marlins looking at starters and relievers and have had preliminary contact with #Rays on Jake Odorizzi, source says. — Jon Morosi (@jonmorosi) 2016년 6월 20일
June 21, 201610 yr Yes. You're spewing garbage. Again your proving yor emptiness to these boards. It's like watching Chen getting tourched.

June 21, 201610 yr The "GoGo Fish" as Harold Reynolds called the Marlins in 03 towards the end of the season. I don't mind the lack of media attention, good for players, something for them to feed on.
June 21, 201610 yr The grammar swat police are trolling like they need to make quota. I could care less about perfect grammification. Makes me no more wrong than you being right. Of course Squalls a little insucure so this was to be expected.
June 21, 201610 yr You could care less? So you do actually care a little bit. Not enough to avoid making up a word like grammification though. You and Vince may have passed the same remedial classes, but clearly he scored higher than you did. That's weak Squallage. I expected more from such a critical mind. Another bad delivery by the Chen master.
June 21, 201610 yr You forgot 3. Mr Squaller is a first class idiot. I don't personally know of Vince. He seems to be down to earth, level headed poster from what I have read and a good person So I don't mind the comparison I'm sure that your parents wasted there education money on you though. You prove that common sense is much more beneficial

You prove that common sense is much more beneficial Thanks for the good words and I can appreciate that. I do speak my mind here whether it makes me look bad or not. I never really like to curse people out here (no real reason) and read and take everyone's opinions here seriously especially about my team. I feel half the board likes me and half don't. But it's completely fine. Welcome to the boards, friend.
