Posted July 10, 20168 yr Who would you like to see the team make a move for? I could see us dangling Detrich or Bour a quality starter. My top two would be Matt Moore and Pomeranz. We need to add a top end starter desperately, the 2nd half schedule is very tough Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app
July 10, 20168 yr Author Dietrch or Bour isnt getting you a top half the rotation starter. Together I could see them prying away and expensive veteran Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app
July 10, 20168 yr Dietrch or Bour isnt getting you a top half the rotation starter. trading DD or Bour for Moore or Pomeranz is giving up too much. And bour should absolutely not be traded. 870 ops, 28 years old, oodles of club control. The dude is awesome and really integral to this lineup

He's a guy you gotta platoon Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app he's extremely useful to us specifically (and any other team..should be over 2 WAR). have you met don kelly or chris johnson?
July 10, 20168 yr Author he's extremely useful to us specifically (and any other team..should be over 2 WAR). have you met don kelly or chris johnson? He's a + platoon player, but a platoon guy nonetheless. I wouldn't be heartbroken if we gave him up for a quality starter. That would be a solid move Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app
July 10, 20168 yr Sonny Gray would be dope. Young and cheap. Not sure what the asking price would be, though.
July 10, 20168 yr He's a + platoon player, but a platoon guy nonetheless. I wouldn't be heartbroken if we gave him up for a quality starter. That would be a solid move Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app once again: don kelly/chris johnson
July 10, 20168 yr A 2/3 rotation guy and a UTIL player with great speed. We'll essentially be getting the latter in Gordon when he comes back.
July 10, 20168 yr he's close to .900 ops and will hit 30+ HR. That's a + platoon player to you? That's a top 10 1b
July 10, 20168 yr he's close to .900 ops and will hit 30+ HR. That's a + platoon player to you? That's a top 10 1b He also has been pretty damn good defensively this year. Bour is awesome. He's basically Mike Jacobs if Jacobs actually walked and could actually play the field (maybe he's not like Mike Jacobs).
July 10, 20168 yr Here's my ultimate opinion on everything. While this year has been tons of fun, it's really not our year. Would love to get to the playoffs for a taste but we aint got the team to go far. If they do any SP trade it needs to be for a guy with multiple years....2017 could be our year... Trade ozuna to cleveland or KC for a legit SP2. Sign Cespedes or Reddick or another big name FA OF. Perhaps the old veteran washed up guy they trade for this year stays good as well. Throw capps into the situation and our lineup and f the cubs. We'll win 100 games
July 10, 20168 yr He also has been pretty damn good defensively this year. Bour is awesome. He's basically Mike Jacobs if Jacobs actually walked and could actually play the field (maybe he's not like Mike Jacobs). agreed. we don't have anything closely resembling bour depth wise to trade him. the whole in the lineup is too vast. you'd be swapping .850+ ops for 650ish ops
July 10, 20168 yr I would trade/package Dee to a team looking to build for next year. He can't help anyone this year in the playoffs
July 10, 20168 yr I would trade/package Dee to a team looking to build for next year. He can't help anyone this year in the playoffs no one is giving up real value for that $50m

Let's also not forget the strong possibility that Jose gets shut down later in the year, so as awesome as this season has been, we probably aren't making the playoffs. 2017 is the year for the Marlins.
July 10, 20168 yr We'll essentially be getting the latter in Gordon when he comes back. I'm looking beyond the regular season :10_wink:
July 10, 20168 yr Yeah. Let's also not forget the strong possibility that Jose gets shut down later in the year, so as awesome as this season has been, we probably aren't making the playoffs. 2017 is the year for the Marlins. they're actually handling jose's innings very very well (the chen opening day thing was brilliant in retrospect). Plan is to have him pitch 170-180 and have him ready to go for the playoffs if need be. but yeah i agree with you 100%. Conley might be shut down too
July 10, 20168 yr I would trade/package Dee to a team looking to build for next year. He can't help anyone this year in the playoffs No way. He will have served his time and will be ready to play. He's too good to trade away this year just because he's useless. You can't teach speed.
July 10, 20168 yr no one is giving up real value for that $50m what do you do with him. as far as playoffs go, he is dead weight. DD has been great.
July 10, 20168 yr No way. He will have served his time and will be ready to play. He's too good to trade away this year just because he's useless. You can't teach speed. you can teach how to steal a base though which dee isn't especially good at considering how fast he is
July 10, 20168 yr Trade Hech/Naylor/Nicolino/Ellington to the Rays for Steve Pearce & 1 of their starters (Moore/Odorizzi/Smyly, they can pick).
