Naylor sucks. I'd rather give him up than flores tellis or brice

Why does Naylor suck?  He makes good contact, has a ton of power and doesn't K much.  He can also steal bases.  He's held his own in low A ball at a young age.  I don't understand why everyone is down him.

Ok. You can have Tellis, I'll take Naylor without even thinking twice. Now let's just hope Minnestoa/Oakland is thinking the same way

Naylor is the only prospect I want to keep

I know they arent considered a "prospect" because of their age, but I've been following Moises Sierra, And Destin Hood lately, both having really solid seasons.

Sierra also has a little more than a season's worth of MLB experience. I would hope he'd hit AA pitching well.

I understand, he also had some success in 2014 with the Chi Sox. All I'm saying is he's having a good year and could help later in the year when the roster expands

Fair enough.

trading DD or Bour for Moore or Pomeranz is giving up too much. And bour should absolutely not be traded. 870 ops, 28 years old, oodles of club control. The dude is awesome and really integral to this lineup

I wouldn't exactly call Moore a top of the rotation guy (1/2 type starter) and I wouldn't trust Pomeranz. I also don't see a second trade happening with the Padres.

Sonny Gray Marlins don't have the chips. Beane won't give a discount on him regardless even though he has struggled this year

wait until he's traded then suddenly Naylor was the future of the team

Naylor just had a nice swing in the Futures Game. I didn't know he was that fat though.

Lol he definitely still has some baby fat on him

Marlins should get him a personal trainer ASAP.  He is only 19. He's only going to get heavier as he gets older unless they do something about it now.  He has a lot of talent.

If the Marlins are making an "all in" run for it, they probably shouldn't trade Ozuna. However, he's really been regressing over the last few weeks. It makes you wonder if his second half will be much more underwhelming.

.252/.310/.435/.745 line with 7 HR since May 30th.

It seems like he's regressing toward his career average prior to this season.

I'd sit tight for next season or sell what's left of the farm + Ramos for a middle of the rotation arm. I wouldn't trade any starting player.

He's not regressing....it's called a slump. No one hits .300 every week of the year. Use a different term if that's what you meant, but for goodness sake he's not regressing

I don't see what's wrong with that term if his performance is starting to approach the career norms. It's only a "slump" if you think that 1.000 OPS seasons are the norm for him.

Because he's not regressing. He's the same player, going through the classic ups and downs of baseball. It's not anything more than a slump regardless of my expectations. Just like he wasn't progressing as a player when he was hot. He was simply on a hot streak, and now he's going on a colder streak. The amount of said streaks is what will determine his final line. Regression is saying that he's getting worse as an overall player. Which he is not.

You are splitting hairs for no reason. To me, I'm simply saying that he's "regressing towards the mean." As in, his slash line is regressing to a more expected level. I don't think it's right to call this a "slump" when his May performance isn't a better indication of what he really is as a player.

Trading Ozuna just makes the team worse right now. Maybe in the offseason, but definitely not now.

Whoever we try to acquire package Chris Johnson and Cole in there. The weakest links in there. Rojas should platoon with Bour. Have Dietrich start against some LHP. His ability to get on base is great anyway.

This is why I brought up Steve Pearce earlier.

Aside from our obvious SP need, it would be cool to upgrade at 1B from the right side. Bour's been good against RHP, but Chris Johnson...well, not so much.

Also, I think we should carry 8 relievers in the 2nd half. Cole Gillespie's roster spot is so irrelevant.
