Marlins Skip Jose Fernandez Start Until Next week

Featured Replies

Probably Tuesday with Phelps going on Monday.

Fernandez will not make a second start this week, presumably being pushed back to Monday or Tuesday in Cincinnati, the Miami Herald's Andre Fernandez reports.

The Marlins will take advantage of Thursday's off day to move Tom Koehler up to start Sunday, which will allow them to give their ace an extra day of rest. Fernandez has not been confirmed as Monday's starter against the Reds, and the Marlins could conceivably even push him to Tuesday and have David Phelps pitch on normal rest Monday, but unless they plan on skipping Fernandez altogether and calling up a starter from Triple-A, he should take the ball early next week.

Sept 1

Is this Sept 1, 2016? Just want clarification, I'd hate for Sept 2nd to arrive and then you're just like "oh nah, I meant 2017"

The fact that Koehler is our ace makes the above news confusing.

LMAO still waiting for @squall to pull that stunt.

What does Sept 1 mean?

Lol squall is predicting we'll be back down to .500 on that date...and so he's proceeded to troll every thread with that date.
