Yeah true... but... money... even if they're ok with spending big this offseason you still have to outbid the other teams and to get both of them wouldn't be easy.

No guarantees but it is nice to see them try isn't it?

i'd rather them devote money and energy to fielding a front office and overall strategy that is relevant in 2016

Generally yes, I do agree it is nice. You earlier posted that fans bitch when they don't spend and then they bitch when they do spend... I'm not like that. After wishing they'd spend for so long I've always been ok with them spending more even if sometimes it seems to hurt. Do it. They gotta take a gamble at some point.

What I am about to say does infer that there is some intelligence in the Front Office but I see this year coming up as maybe a lost year and signing a few big time bullpen arms might be the best way to go to solve several problems for the future.  so here goes.

1.  There is an obvious lack of talent on the SP market

2. The SP market is remarkably better next year

3. The Closer market stinks next year.

4. Sign a few back end bullpen/closers this offseason

5. Trade that bullpen help at the deadline or next offseason to get controllable arms or prospects to bolster the farm system

6. Sign some SP next year when the market is better.

I have warmed to the fact that next season may be a lost season yet again but this may be the best way to get the farm better as quick as possible while keeping the core intact.  Keep in mind what Andrew Miller and Chapman netted the teams that traded them this season.

Bearclaw in the 6th

Ramos in the 7th

Capps in the 8th

Jansen in the 9th

Love it!

Oh wait a second!

We return you to your regularly scheduled Marlins programming.

If this had been a team with an actual competent front office you would have been instructed to smile at the thought.

Please refer to your regularly scheduled programming.

Thank you and have a good day.

I still can't believe they traded Capps for nothing lmao

What a shit show.

I mean I really don't get it lol.... Naylor, Cosart, Capps for 2 months of Cashner? WTF

Jansen is their #1 priority? why a top closer if they don't have starters?

They will sign or trade for starters as well but without a premium SP out there, they are trying to make a premium pen instead

I guessed Harvard knows better

Why not trade for Chris Sale !?

Why not trade for Chris Sale !?

Marlins would have to give up Yelich just to begin a conversation for Sale

Marlins don't have enough to trade for him I guess

You said this team would surprised us this winter,if they got this guy then would really surprised me.

They can surprise you without doing the seemingly impossible.

Ok,Chapman or Jansen + Hill + Cespedes would be enough.
