April 27, 20179 yr Author I also forgot to include the third run scoring because Realmuto couldn't properly tag the runner. Had the ball before the runner could even be seen on screen. About to be 5 behind the Nationals already.
April 27, 20179 yr Hopefully the return home can change our fortunes at the weekend. Disappointing to lose 2 in Philly however I'm going to say the end of a long road trip played a factor.
April 27, 20179 yr Author In fairness, Volquez battled and gave up two tough runs with the error and late tag by Realmuto. If he can get his control down, he has the stuff to be successful. Still pretty pissed about this road trip, especially after winning the series in San Diego.

April 27, 20179 yr April games matter. At the end of the season when you only need a few games to be "in it" - they all matter. It really kills me how successful pitchers from other teams come to the Marlins, and they forget how to pitch. I can't remember the last SP pickup we made where the guy actually did what was advertised. Perhaps a flaw in our organization....something behind the scenes that we don't see? I have no clue - but it is obvious. The facts are, we probably have the talent to be .500 or a hair better than that. We are only as good as our starting pitcher each day....and that is sketchy at best for us. I will say it again: I miss Jose Day.
