marlinsmaniac
Can't hit at all, but threw out 37% of runners last year. Not bad for minor league depth or an emergency backup situation.

Admin
Has a team ever made these many Rule 5 picks including the minor league phase?
fish20
Only 1 got selected before our pick. The other got picked after our pick.. nope.
rafi
Yea minor league teams select alot. Orioles took 3 in the major league portion btw.
The_Punisher
We didnt pass not once. I think this is the record either way. The minor league phase is free players anyway. We can do with them whatever we like. We dont need to keep them in their current status if we dont want to. A triple A player can be moved to single A for example. Bret Hart
Anyway Elieser Hernandez's numbers are impressive. Has a good BB-K ratio.
EricOwens!
So Hernandez and Graves must stay on the 25 man correct?
fish20
So Hernandez and Graves must stay on the 25 man correct? yes. all year or they get sent back i believe.
fish20
only problem with Hernandez is that he has never pitched above A+ ball and he would have to go to the majors right away

Bret Hart
So Hernandez and Graves must stay on the 25 man correct? Yeah, one season through, excluding DL period.
THRILLHO
A team that is rebuilding can afford to do this. Can stash him on the roster for the year. He becomes organizational property after 2018 if he stays on the roster all season. He gets to work with a MLB pitching coach and get some limited action at the big league level at a minimum. Can get in work in side sessions otherwise. Learn from the "best". "The best". That is terrific. Wasn't it on this board just recently there was a debate regarding the importance of a pitching coach when Hickey and Maddux were available?
