Conforto “only” has three years of control left so it hurts his value a little. I don’t see why the marlins would want him for JT. The extra year of control isn’t much.

They didn’t strike out on Stanton. He was traded for financial relief reasons and they accomplished that. People still don’t get that a year later.

Stanton deal, what did you want? Top end prospects? You aren't getting those when they are taking on nearly 300 mil.

 

Yelich deal, right now it looks bad. Never said I liked it. Deals where you get prospects have to be given a few years. Blue chips aren't guarantees either, see Maybin and Miller for Miggy.

You don't have to like the deal but you cannot ignore that the return was hindered by Stanton's contract. 

 

 

Perusing Twitter, Mets fans are all over the place on which is the most valuable of these 3. Some people say Nimmo needs to be kept over the other two, some say Rosario, some say Conforto... a couple say not even one is worth trading Realmuto for lol.

He’s ok. Not the centerpiece of any deal, but a nice peice that is still developing and can contribute right away. Definitely gives you a safety net if one of Bronson/Mesa doesn’t reach their potential. Another thing, if he builds on his success last year he could be a deadline candidate and net a nice return.
