Unveiling of new logos and uniforms

The 47 one is like an off grayish blue color.  I like it for a "work" hat, but this other one looks much cooler.

Yea I got the 47 one too. I like it for things like BBQing fishing and cutting the grass but I am a little disappointed by it too, not sure why, so I'll likely get the 5950 when it comes out too, probably low profile if they have em.

For me, I think it's the off gray color - kinda makes it seem like it's an old heavily washed/faded black.

This must be a theme with 47 brand. I got the Marlins wordmark t-shirt from them and it looks like it was in the wash too many times as a brand new shirt.

Yeah that's kinda the point. The logos and stitching colors are accurate but the cap itself is meant to have an old beat up look to it, which is why I consider it perfect for outdoor stuff where it might get dirty. I can't allow myself to wear the authentic 5950's while I'm grilling... but those 47 brand caps would look just fine with a splash of BBQ sauce on them.

I am not a fan of the design choice from 47 brand then. It is like ripped jeans to me. Why buy something that looks damaged or old from the start? Maybe I'm just too old to get it.

Oh I'm with you on the ripped jeans... I always joke about how I get a rip in my jeans and I go to the store looking for new jeans and the new jeans also have rips in them... so I might as well keep my original jeans with new rips!

But with the caps it's more like having a version so that I can still wear a Marlins cap when I'm doing something messy. If it's an occasion where I can wear a cap, I normally do... but some occasions don't go with a nice new clean cap so that's why I always keep a few older washed up versions around. 47 brand allows me a new design in a washed up version.

I don't mind it for the hats, but a shirt that looks worn and overwashed? Anyone like that?

Depends on what the design is... I have a Batman logo shirt that looks awesome like that mostly because it's, obviously, something I associate with my childhood.

Ironically, my first Miami Marlins shirt that I bought November 2011 is starting to fade and get that worn in look and it's looking kinda cool to me which is fitting that it's now vintage with the new rebrand taking effect.

Hey, that's exactly what I'm using it for too - outdoor yard stuff, etc. because I won't have to worry about ruining a nicer new hat.  There's still something about it though that was disappointing when I opened it.

I don't understand ripped jeans at all - why pay more to have something damaged from the get-go?  I'm sorry - holes in your clothes is not style.  I'll never buy ripped jeans (I threw out my last pair that got a hole in them).....wait......I guess that makes me a REAL fan of them ?

Yeah, it's what I'm thinking of, they call that the "weathered" look.  I'm mixed on it - guess it depends on the application.

I have a cousin who's a model, legitimately... and she can rock a pair of ripped jeans lol

But ripped jeans for normal people in normal use are stupid. Ripped jeans have to have a design to their rips to look anywhere near good.

The Fanatics store at Dolphin Mall is doing personalization for $45. Fair discount from the $60 at the ballpark.

Fanatics? you meant Lids Locker room?

I'm not sure, I never look up at the name and I know that place has changed names a couple of times... it's not the smaller Lids store, it's the larger one by the large candy stand and the Bass Pro Shops.

@rmc523 been meaning to ask you this... can you compare the red sliver on the fish on the 47 brand cap to the red on any other new merchandise? Mine looks pretty much like the orange on the old caps compared to the more reddish of the new caps.

You'd have to have the 47 cap to see this but take a peek...

the flash makes the 47brand looks lighter compared to the New Era

I've been looking at this for weeks without the flash. The thread is more orange on the 47 than the reddish thread on the 5950. I posted the pic with flash because it showed my point better but it's there regardless of flash. Here's no flash...

it's possible that 47brand didn't have the right red tone to start production ? and they just threw the old red-orange.

Or the chinese worker said fuck it they look similar and no one will noticed it
