December 18, 20187 yr Author Just received a follow up email from Lids on my original complaint (before I contacted them by phone). It stated that the jersey was marked as a "missing item", probably due to incorrect on hand counts. They said my account wasn't charged and it would not be shipped at a later date. If I want to reorder, please do so when the item is back in stock. Of course, they still won't acknowledge that the item has ALWAYS shown as in stock. I reordered the day I found out they canceled it and it was fulfilled with no issues. I had no idea how crappy this company had become. Again, it should never have been cancelled. At worst it should have been put on back order and you would be given the option to cancel if you chose to do so. By just cancelling it and not contacting the customer they're really losing out on a ton of money. They're basically returning people's money. So bad. I just emailed back to my response and told them the two items I was missing. Let's see what happens.

December 20, 20187 yr Author Just received a follow up email from Lids on my original complaint (before I contacted them by phone). It stated that the jersey was marked as a "missing item", probably due to incorrect on hand counts. They said my account wasn't charged and it would not be shipped at a later date. If I want to reorder, please do so when the item is back in stock. And I just got my response with this exact same explanation... missing items due to incorrect inventory counts and that they wouldn't be shipped to me but I could reorder them. Things happen, I get that. But they lost my money on this because, after all this time, I have decided not to reorder the items. Maybe they shouldn't be counting inventory wrong? Maybe they should have kept the item on backorder and just charged me again when it eventually ships? Maybe they shouldn't take three weeks to answer an email that says will be answered within 48 hrs? Maybe they shouldn't seem so incompetent? Oh well, I'm done with this debacle, mostly because of the frustration. One day I'll get the two items I wanted, most likely elsewhere. You'd think a more efficient company could have handled this better even taking all the issues into account. I ordered from MLB shop and they had a delay in getting my shipment processed but they still got it done and in the end everything I ordered came in and both sides were happy. This can't really be that hard.

December 24, 20187 yr I"m late to this conversation but LIDS really needs to get their shit together, maybe invest a few bucks into a real time inventory system that doesnt suck. Its like they have no concept how to run a business. Will be bankrupt and gone within 5 years at this rate. And just pretty much buzzsaw all of upper management with competent people in charge.
December 25, 20187 yr Where's our logo ? I couldn't find it at the beginning and it seems invisible in the black background, and it should be with the cap insignia and not the one in the below, right ?

Yep, poor decision by whoever designed that image. All 29 other logos there are the cap logos but ours is the primary logo.
December 26, 20187 yr Yep, poor decision by whoever designed that image. All 29 other logos there are the cap logos but ours is the primary logo. Yeah, it seems they're intended to contempt us.
December 26, 20187 yr Tbh, I know this sounds weird, but for now, I’m sticking with the old school merchandise. My thinking is this. When the Marlins are good, everyone is going to want to buy the new merchandise. Meanwhile, all the loyal Marlin fans will be wearing their old school aka better looking Marlins merchandise. I may eventually buy new Marlins gear, but 3 rebrands in a decade? I get Jeter wants to put his own stamp on the franchise, but c’mon. 3 rebrands in a decade doesn’t sound ridiculous to anyone else? I love the old Marlins colors the best. Don’t get me wrong, I like the new colors as well. But the old teal will always be nostalgic for me.
December 26, 20187 yr Yep, poor decision by whoever designed that image. All 29 other logos there are the cap logos but ours is the primary logo. It just shows you how bad the new logo is on a black background when small. They have several dark (gray or black) polos in the team store, and the logo is so small you can barely tell what it is close up, let alone at a distance. It shows up better on the white/blue backgrounds.

December 26, 20187 yr I the hundreds of pages of new logo discussion I’m sure this has been expressed somewhere. But I think that good design is best done with players appearance in mind. Not merchendise sales, and not on screen graphics. Above all if the players on the field look good everything else falls in line. It’s not the uniforms fault that MLB network can’t put together a decent thumbnail for their graphics.
December 27, 20187 yr Does anyone know if they put on numbers and letters for the new jerseys at the team store at the stadium? And if so, how much is it? My mom got me the blue replica jersey and I hate replica jerseys so I’m going to exchange it for an authentic but for some reason you can only get Starlin Castro on fanatics.com.

December 27, 20187 yr How is it 3 rebrands in a decade? Isn’t it 2? I meant 3 logos in one decade my b haha but still that’s a bit much for any franchise imo

I haven’t been since the rebranding but they always have had a place to customize any jersey so I don’t see why not
December 27, 20187 yr I came across this post in the creamer boards which is relevant to our rebrand. I’m eager to see how our players use base layers to emphasize certain colores http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/74523-unpopular-opinions/?do=findComment&comment=2895306

December 27, 20187 yr Blue base layer when wearing the white looks good. Haven't confirmed what works with the other jerseys yet. My guess is that they’ll initially use black with the greys only because that’s what was used in the AFL game.

My mom got me the blue replica jersey and I hate replica jerseys so I’m going to exchange it for an authentic but for some reason you can only get Starlin Castro on fanatics.com. Yes, you can. They told me it was $60 to put it on my blue replica jersey. I don't know if that price changes for an authentic one. I still have the thought of doing it in the back of my mind, but I'm having a hard time justifying it with the revolving door of names we have (not that other teams don't trade guys, but we do so more than others).

That’s a lot of money. I think I’d rather have a bunch of t shirts than customization.
December 27, 20187 yr That’s a lot of money. I think I’d rather have a bunch of t shirts than customization. Yeah, it's not cheap, especially considering the jersey itself is $99. I did it several years ago with the blue jersey they sold (put Stanton/27 on it), and I think it was $50 then.
December 27, 20187 yr Author MLB Network seems to be experimenting with how they use the logo, here it is on a blue background instead of black. Much better and looking pretty teal in this case. Again, this blue is a pretty fair compromise for those who really wanted the old teal back.

Meanwhile, all the loyal Marlin fans will be wearing their old school aka better looking Marlins merchandise. I'm a loyal Marlins fan and I'm wearing the new stuff all the time now. I still love my old school merchandise but it's not like every long time fan is refusing to wear the new stuff.
