Will I have to eat crow (or marlin) by the end of the year?

In the Gallen got traded thread I expressed my expectation that Gallen would regress a bit and would have an ERA of over 4.00 for the rest of the year. So with that in mind, I will make periodic posts by the morning after each one of his starts to discuss his performance and his overall statistics with the D-Backs. Feel free to jeer or cheer me on depending on whether you thought it was a good trade or not.

*Keep in mind I am not rooting against Gallen and still think that he will have a productive MLB career, just that he will not be an ace as the league will adjust to him.

Gallen's first start with the D-Backs:

5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, W.

54 (63.5%) of his 85 pitches were for strikes.

Gallen bent, but did not break in his second start at Colorado. Since he only went 4 innings, he was ineligible for the win:

4.0 IP, 9 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, ND

So far his stats for the D-Backs in 2 starts:

1-0, 2.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, 4.0 BB/9, 9.0 K/0, 10 H/9, 0 HR/9, .385 BAbip

I like how this thread is like a one man show with only you making occasional entries, like a journal.

Wait, did I just ruin that?

Gallen Update:

Arizona Start 3: 6.0 IP,  5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 6 BB, 8 K, ND

Arizona Start 4: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, 2 HR, L

Though 4 starts with the D-Backs:

1-1, 20.0 IP, 2.25 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, 5.4 BB/9, 11.3 K/9, 9.5 H/9, 0.9 HR/9, .380 BAbip

Given the number of base runners he has given up it is amazing that the 2 homers in game 4 happened to be with no one on. I read recently that he is trying to get hitters to chase and he does not mind walking them as he sees it as not as bad as giving up a big hit. Let's see if this philosophy works in the long run.
