No not really, this just allows both Pop and Campbell to make the roster, no surprises. Bender is going to the alternate site.

Also, I think there's something to be said for doing the right thing for the player. Hoyt is 34 or something and was pretty good last year. He should be playing in the bigs.
March 30, 20215 yr Im all for it. His FIP numbers hinted at some major over performance and regression possibilities. If it means we get to have Bender on the team who looks like the real deal, then it’s worth it. He and Pop should definitely be on the team. Edited March 30, 20215 yr by marlinsmaniac

Campbell, if released goes back to TB so maybe after that series it could happen.

March 30, 20215 yr Yes it's nice to keep as many good players as possible but Hoyt got surpassed on the depth chart and there's a chance his best was what we got last year. I wouldn't have minded keeping him in the minors but I have no problem with prioritizing these newer additions over him.
