(Alternate site, MLB) It should also be noted the one knee style of catching with no men on base especially isnt that wild. Many catchers are doing it now as it saves the knees generally. What is a bit more wild is doing it with men on base. Need eye balls on that to see how he actually performs.

July 30, 20215 yr I'm assuming they weren't getting any traction on any other catcher and at least throwing Jackson into the mix gives one more option at the position for us for now. I wouldn't think Jackson is the answer but we don't have many choices so they're giving him the opportunity. Basically rolling the dice.

If it somehow clicks with the bat then we might be looking at a potential answer.

Contreras is raw - I get that. If Jackson is being blocked by Kevan Smith, why do we want him? Smith sucks. If he was their everyday catcher until D'arnaud got back, fine. But he's been blocked by all of them.

Lewin Diaz needs AB’s in the big leagues and Aguilar is apparently not getting traded. I’m pretty sure Diaz is more important to the organization than De La Dinger.

I’m pretty sure Diaz is more important to the organization than De La Dinger. There’s no way they’re gonna keep a 24 y/o guy hitting .340 in AAA that plays a corner when they just traded away a Corner OF. Lewis is going to get his ABs with Coop out. It’s obvious they like De La Cruz being that he was for Yimi and they cleared space for him.
