February 28, 20224 yr Have a bad feeling it’s because ownership doesn’t want to spend, and Jeter won’t put his name on that
February 28, 20224 yr Back to being a clown show, even if this is "good", the Marlins once again are a joke/punchline. Pass out the red noses and cue the circus music...

February 28, 20224 yr I haven’t loved what Kim Ng has done thus far from a personnel standpoint. If she really forced, or was apart of the reason of Jeter leaving, she just put a tremendous amount of pressure on herself
February 28, 20224 yr There are so many conflicting ways to look at what happened. I don't know what to believe here.
February 28, 20224 yr This could be 1 of 2 things: 1) Sherman doesn't want to spend like Jeter intended, as has been mentioned, which is hard to tell with the lockout. They started spending, but need to do a lot more. Did Jeter want to go after the big guns (Correa, Seager, etc. level), and Sherman wouldn't approve? OR 2) Jeter never intended to stick around and it was all public posturing to get ownership, make some money and duck out and join a "real"/bigger club - either via an ownership percentage or as CEO - after getting experience here. I recall us speculating for a while whether he'd stick around with the 5-year term he originally signed up for. Edited February 28, 20224 yr by rmc523

I feel like he’s more likely to go work for MLB rather than another club.

I believe it's the first but the 2nd one is the one that people are gonna flock to whether true or not. The scary part is that this leaves us looking at Sherman as a problem and he's the one who's staying. If Jeter jumped ship, shouldn't we be afraid of what he's jumping away from?
