But that's also why they need to spend money to fill that hole of lack of bats. They should've started last year, and signing Garcia if that's their big move is stupid. I also have a hard time criticizing attendance completely because of the effects of Covid. So you had rebuild+pandemic which is not going to help attendance. I always thought the project wolverine projections for attendance (and therefore revenues) were over inflated, and did not at all account for the lull of ANOTHER rebuild they started when they got here. The year we did well (2020), fans couldn't go, and then last year it was more dumpster fire, so naturally people wouldn't go. This goes back to spending - should have done more after 2020 to bolster the lineup which was a glaring hole then too.

February 28, 20224 yr How many of you would jump ship for good or just not bother with MLB at all if they did another full rebuild? I'll be honest in that I'd have an incredibly hard time caring about MLB again at all. I can't get my allegiances to switch as much as i yearn to be a Rays fan instead. I think I might just stop watching baseball altogether I guess or just follow boxscores, etc online again. I mean with attendance in the shitter as it is - is there really an incentive to NOT keep tearing it down and just reap the collective benefits from revenue sharing, etc?

I'm at that point of just not caring and watching from afar - aka getting score updates and not watching. I can't really get into supporting another team, as they're not "my" team - maybe if I moved somewhere and adopted that area's team, but watching another team from here I can't do. That's one thing Jeter & Co. failed to understand with the rebuild - while perhaps the "right" thing to do, it further damages the community's view of the team as we've had so many rebuilds before and gives people more of a reason to not support. That's why we needed a Cohen or super rich owner to spend while rebuilding. Then fans would come out.

Numbers always seemed inflated. So, when the Jeter group announced that they were lying about attendance, I believe them. If you are a true fan and have been going to enough games, does it really look like to you that half as many people are going now? That wouldn't even make sense logically.

February 28, 20224 yr How can half as many people go to games that doesn't make any sense I mean like how can only half of someone go to a game? If someone goes to the game their entire body goes not just half of it. And anyways would half a person be the upper half or the lower half or are we talking left or ride halves? I'm so lost.
